There was David on hearing of the boastings and defiance of Goliath against God couldn't keep calm anymore. Though he wasn't skilled in fighting, just couldn't shake away the feelings of keeping quiet in the face of such defiance.
Samson faced a lion and instead of running away from the lion, an anger was stirred up within him and he tore the lion like a young lamb. It was like every roar the lion made got him more stirred up and angry. Instead of shaking in fear and becoming defenseless, he got more vigorous and radical until the lion was no more. This is what the anointing does to lives.
There is similarity between David and Samson. The anointing within them couldn't tolerate boastings and defiance against God. It wasn't satisfied seeing the giant Goliath of torture, immorality and oppression go court free or roam about freely or the lion of intimidation and fear overwhelm and dominate. It couldn't stand such sight. It flange into action until the sight was removed. One of the reasons God gave us the anointing which is the Holy Spirit is so that spiritual Goliaths and lions would irritate us and make us have holy anger. We can't stand the sight of the degradation and disastrous works of the devil and demons in lives. Whenever we see the boastings of Goliaths and the roaring of lions against God, it drives us angry to pray and act in the name of the Lord until they are no more.
This is the difference between the anointed and the one not anointed. Like the army on the battle field which couldn't do anything but just complained about the boastings of Goliath and were helpless in his sight and were filled with fear until David knew of Goliath so also the world and the unbelievers are powerless to the torments and devastating works and cruelty of the devil and demons as they stir up and influence lives with their wickedness. They can only complain but do nothing unlike the believer with the anointing who can't stand such sight but becomes uncomfortable. One of the characteristics of love(a life dominated by the anointing) is 1 Corinthians 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;. In other words the joy of a believer is to see God's truth prevail (and God's truth set men free for the truth will make you free). It doesn't rejoice in seeing lives beaten and tormented by the devil or in the roaring of spiritual lions against the church but to see Jesus glorified in every case.
