3 Uz·ziʹah was 16 years old when he became king, and he reigned for 52 years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Je·co·liʹah of Jerusalem. 4 He continued to do what was right in Jehovah’s eyes, just as his father Am·a·ziʹah had done. 5 And he kept searching for God in the days of Zech·a·riʹah, who taught him to fear the true God. During the time he was searching for Jehovah, the true God made him prosper. 6 He went out and fought against the Phi·lisʹtines and broke through the wall of Gath, the wall of Jabʹneh, and the wall of Ashʹdod. Then he built cities in the territory of Ashʹdod and among the Phi·lisʹtines. 7 The true God continued to help him against the Phi·lisʹtines, against the Arabians who were dwelling in Gur·baʹal, and against the Me·uʹnim.

everyone desires to prosper. We pray for prosperity, We
work towards it as much as we can. Prosperity comes
with glamour, relief, joy and satisfaction among other things. Prosperity also means different things to different people and ways of achieving prosperity differs from one . person to the other. However anyone who truly desires prosperity will surely have it.

King Uzziah was a teenager of sixteen years. We surely would not expect a person of this age to know his bearing well especially in an exalted position of kingshlp but this young king did well in the sight of God. By God‘s assessment, he did well in his relationship with God and this is very important. Whatever responsibility or position we are entrusted with, God must come first: it is only when we please Him that we can carry out our duties to truly satisfy man. There is a secret to gaining God's approval, what is the secret? The answer can be found in verse 5 of our passage for today. The king looked up to God, he sought God, and he asked God to guide him. He sought God from the right source the prophet Zechariah who had understanding in the visions of God, no wonder the young king 7 prospered. As long as he sought God, He made him to prosper. He fulfilled the condition for position as king and the result was obvious.

Do you desire to prosper in what you are currently doing and in all other aspects of your life? Then borrow a leaf from King Uzziah. Seek God concerning what you want to do and when He tells you what to do do exactly, so can He will prosper you. in the time of King Uzziah, he sought after God going through prophet Zechariah but today because our high priest jesusChrist has been crucified for us, we can go directly to God in His name, and prosper on all sides.

It is important that we get our bearing right from the start what is your goal as a Christian? is it to make it heaven, toreceive a crown from God at the end of our life's journey This is no doubt a commendable goal. The process of achieving this laudable goal should be clear to us so that we are not list one that beats the air.
We need to be focused because there are many
**text:1 corinthians:9:24-27

24 Do you not know that the runners in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win it. 25 Now everyone competing in a contest exercises self-control in all things. Of course, they do it to receive a crown that can perish, but we, one that does not perish. 26 Therefore, the way I am running is not aimlessly; the way I am aiming my blows is so as not to be striking the air; 27 but I pummel my body and lead it as a slave, so that after I have preached to others, I myself should not become disapproved somehow.Lit., “authority.”Or “a sister as a wife.”Also called Peter.Lit., “authority.”Or “rights.”Or “every athlete.”Or “punish; strictly discipline.”Or “disqualified.”

distractions. Anyone who desires to complete the Christian race successfully must properly belt up so as to overcome all hurdles and make the final leap into eternity with commendation from God. The picture of this glorious welcome by God at the end of our earthly sojourn should spur us on daily as we run this race. It is important that we keep heaven constantly in view and consciously blot but whatever tends to deprive us of reaching our final goal which is heaven with God.

We are reminded in this passage that many run in a race. lna sport's competition, when the whistle. is blown for the i contestants to start a race, everyone of them takes off with great expectation of being the winner but how does the show ; play out before us as we watch? Some soon after takeoff stumble and fall and remain there, some fall pick up themselves and continue but are now behind others, some who were ahead begin to fall back and eventually one makes it to the finishing line first and becomes the first place winner. No one considers whatever difficulties, accidents or obstacles encountered by any of the other contestants, the winner is he who finished successfully. So it is with our Christian race, we must overcome all obstacles, distractions and concentrate and remain focused in order to make it and obtain this wonderful indescribable crown.
