Many ideas of the janitor's office, written by Saint John Eudes, can be applied in this section. We are called to take care of the door, to open the door of our hearts to God and to others, because if we open the doors to God, whom we do not see, and we do not open them to the brother whom we see, we are liars.
Opening the door of God and the door of our own life to others implies being charitable and courteous to others, welcoming tenderly and sweetly those who come into our lives, whatever their condition. To speak to them with charity and meekness, to treat everyone in such a way that no one is unhappy with our treatment, that he always comes out edified by our modesty, sweetness and piety and that he sees in us as a mirror of the Church, in which the spirit is reflected of Christianity. The poor, especially, should be treated with gentleness and kindness, and help them as much as possible, giving them a witness of compassion.
Let us open to others the doors that lead to Christ and the doors of our own person. Only with Christ is that possible, he is the key.
Collaborate so that others cross the threshold of hope.
Our task is to evangelize. The goal of evangelization is to open the hearts of men to the salvation that Christ brought us. The purpose of preaching is to make Jesus Christ born and formed in the hearts of men and make him live and reign. It is about opening the door of the heart of men to divine grace.
Mary has been the great evangelizer who has opened hearts to her Son, Jesus Christ. At the wedding of Cana he helped to cross the threshold of faith and hope in Christ to the servants: Do whatever he tells you (Jn 2, 5).
Blessed are those who walk the path that I have traced. Enter the friendly school where I wish to instruct you, there you will learn the science of saints and true wisdom. Happy the man who listens to me and who is very early at my door, that is, who starts looking for me soon and who makes me a service every day.
Let us work so that others cross the threshold of hope and find the key to life, that is, to Christ.
I ask you, through the Spirit and with the power that comes from your glorious riches, to strengthen you in the depths of your being, so that by faith Christ may dwell in your hearts. And I ask that, rooted and grounded in love.
Ephesians 3: 16-17
En cambio, el fruto del Espíritu es amor, alegría, paz, paciencia, amabilidad, bondad, fidelidad, humildad y dominio propio. No hay ley que condene estas cosas.
Gálatas 5:22-23
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace to you who believe in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13
