DISCOVERING YOUR POTENTIAL
BIBLE PASSAGE : JUDGES 6:11-16
INTRODUCTION: God has deposited in human containers,the inner ability to do their earthly assignment and be productive in life. Many believers are sleeping and waking up with great inner assets that will place them above limitations in life. But unfortunately, most of them are ignorant of this hidden asset called potential. As an upshot, they have been limited in so many ways. Gideon did not know he had great leadership potential until the angel of the lord revealed it to him. He limited himself because of the sheer ignorance of his inner ability. May the lord open your eyes to discover your potential as we study together.
WHAT IS POTENTIAL?
a. Ability or quality that exists but has not been developed
b. Untapped power, unused ability, latent gift, dormant talent, reserved resources, hidden energy.
c. Potential is what you can do, but you are yet to do.
d. It is what God has deposited in your life that you are to discover. (2Timothy 1 vs 6)
e. Hidden riches in secret places. (Isa. 45 vs 3)
HOW CAN YOU DISCOVER YOUR POTENTIAL?
a. By studying to detail, what you are good at doing. Whatever you can do easily is a strong pointer to your potential. E.g, Joseph could interpret dreams without much effort.
b. Engaging yourself in Christian activities can be an honest revealer of your potential. E.g. some people dont know they have the potential to preach the gospel until they participate in church/ mass evangelism LUKE 10: 1-17. The seventy evangelists did not know that they could cast out demons until they went out to preach the gospel.
c. Through divine revelation. Ex. 3: 1-10. God appeared unto Moses in a flame of fire and revealed hus leadership potential to him.
Judges 6: 11-16. The angel of the Lord told Gideon that he had the potential to be captain over Isreal army.
d. Through sacrificial service.

CONCLUSION: God buried gold in the earth to be discovered. In the same way, He implanted the potential to be great in you but it is left for you to discover it. If you discover your potential, it will enable you to be the best God created you to be. And after you have discovered your potential, always find time to TRAIN YOURSELF.
