THE LIFESTYLE OF SOUL WINNING

“I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh when no man can work” John 9:4

BASIC SCRIPTURE. ROMANS 10:13-15.

It is the desire of God that all men be saved. (Ezek. 33:11). Soul winning is an act of redeeming people to the lord’s side. It is also an act of presenting the gospel to unbelievers in the power of the Holy spirit with a view to bringing them to accepting Jesus Christ as the Lord and savior and to nurture them to maturity until Christ is fully formed in them so that they can bear fruit. Jn. 15:1-5, 2Tim. 4:2, matt. 28:19-20. And this task is the responsibility of every kingdom person to bring back unto God the lost souls. Mark 16:15, John 15:6.

WHY SOUL WINNING.

God gave us an express command to witness, and disobeying is a SIN. Matt. 28:19-20, Mark 16:15.
The reasons why we must win souls for christ are as follows;
● To reconcile and restore men to God through Jesus. Col. 1:20
● To de-populate the kingdom of darkness and to populate the kingdom of God. Col.1:13.
● To make heaven rejoice. Luke 15:7
● To deliver men from eternal doom. Rev. 20:15, Rev. 2:18.
It shows that we love God.
● To make sure that Christ’s suffering is not in vain.

ATTRIBUTES OF SOUL WINNER.

There is this saying that "you cannot give what you dont have" Therefore, For you to become an active soul winner, you must have in you some of these characteristics.
● Must be born again and remain born again. John 3 vs 16. 1Pet.1:23
● Must be holy. Heb. 12:14, Eph.4:17-24.
● Must be self controlled. 1pet.4:7, 1cor. 9:25.
● Must be rooted in the word. 1pet.2:2, Col. 2:6-7, Col. 3:16.
● Must have passion for lost Soul. Luke 15:4-7, Matt. 9:36.
● Must possess the fruit of the spirit of God. Gal. 5:22-23
● Must be prayerful to overcome obstacles. Eph.6:18.

DIFFERENT APPROACH TO SOUL WINNING.

There are various approach to soul winning. Among them are these few.;
● Direct approach. Matt.3:1-2 (Face to face approach).
● Indirect approach. i.e use of tract, SMS, internet (steemchurch is a great platform to propagate the gospel so as to reach out to the lost soul out there.)
● Interrogative approach. Acts 8:26-39.
● Doing a favour by meeting people needs. John 5:5-9. (giving to the poor, praying fot the sick, e.t.c) James 2:15-16.
