Greetings family Steemchurch many blessings. today dawn particularly happy, is a few hours I will be in my act of degree to receive my title as a doctor today I will reap the fruit of my effort.
"He who gathers together in the summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps in the harvest is a son who is ashamed." (Pr 10. 5)
This verse is simply profound and wonderful, because it talks about the son who works and gathers food during the summer season, acting with understanding, intelligence and wisdom. What is so special about joining in the summer?
Any farmer knows that in winter or fall it is not time to gather. It is necessary to know the stations, to know the time to gather. For example, a farmer who has a large crop and has nowhere to store ends up making piles of what he harvested on his farm, having no barn to keep. Do you know what will happen? The rain will come and rot all the food and during the winter it will die of hunger, because it has nothing stored.
In the passage, Jesus tells the story of a farmer who had a great harvest, he kept everything in his barn and said he was ready to rest and rest, however, the winter of his soul had arrived. The farmer, according to his technical knowledge of agriculture in the physical world, did not have the necessary understanding to gather in the spiritual barn.
Jesus used the principle of agriculture to talk about an eternal principle. The wise son collects not only physical goods in the summer, but also collects eternal goods in the granaries of heaven, because he does not know the time that will be called. Do not gather for the treasures where moth and rust corrode more honor for the treasures in the heavens. Hallelujah!
The second part of the verse Proverbs 10 says about the son who sleeps during the harvest this says, "son who causes shame." What a shame a son who sleeps, lets pass the time of the harvest and loses the moment! The father leaves the child taking the tide and he sleeps, letting the enemy in and stealing the harvest. This son is an embarrassment to his father.
This text scares me, then, how many of us are sleeping in the hour that we should be ready for the harvest and let the enemy enter, steal and destroy the fruit.
Once again I need to mention a teaching that Jesus gave to his disciples concerning the tares and the wheat, using a parable in which he tells the story of a farmer who planted wheat in his field, but while the men slept the enemy came and sowed straw. When the plantation grew the men were scared, then, they saw the tares in the middle of the wheat. The first solution that those men thought was to remove the plague planted, however, the owner of the field says: "Now no! We need to wait for the harvest, because when we tear up the weeds we run the risk of removing the wheat together." sowed in the midst of the wheat, because those who had to watch the field slept, leaving a gap open for the enemy to damage the plantation. The son who sleeps in the harvest is a shame to the father. Therefore, as it is written in I Peter 5,8: "Pray and watch. The devil, your adversary, walks around, like a lion that roars looking for someone to devour. "
There is great expectation these days about the harvest that will come upon the earth. I pray that we will be blessed children and that we will not sleep at the time of harvest.
At the end of this text, I would like to mention something that comes to my heart as I write these words. Could it be that the Son, that is, Jesus slept? The Scriptures narrate a moment that the disciples were in the middle of a storm and Jesus slept peacefully on the ship. The terrified disciples wake him up saying: "Do not you think we're dying?" Jesus gets up and rebukes the storm. That circumstantial storm did not disturb the Son of God. But in the verses of Matthew 9: 36-38 they relate that when Jesus saw the crowd, "He moved with intimate compassion," he was troubled within himself and said to his disciples: "... The harvest, in reality, is But the workers are few, so pray the Lord of the harvest to send more workers into his harvest, and the Son then calls the disciples and sends them two by two on a mission, Jesus did not sleep when he saw the harvest. Pray that God will not let us sleep so we can also move intimate compassion for those who perish.
The harvest is synonymous with celestial blessing, God always provides for children
