May God greatly bless your life, it is not by chance that by reading these lines, your spirit is fed with a fresh word. First come with me to read in the Holy Scriptures Luke chapter 9 verse 57 to 58 .

As they were walking along the road, a man said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.” Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

The words that I want you to focus on are these: "Lord, I will follow you wherever you go." I wish you would record these words in your hearts.

If we take these words out of context, here is the conversation of a man who is determined to be totally, follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. But there are reasons to consider that this man was impulsive in his words and that he had not estimated the cost of following Christ Our Lord, who knows the hearts of all men including yours and mine, he knew the heart of this man and for therefore, he replied:

"The foxes have burrows and the birds of the sky of the nests, but the Son of man has nowhere to lay his head."

With these words Jesus, He called his attention to the great cost of the Christian life. Pious desire is useless if we are not seriously determined to pay the full cost of discipleship. Jesus wants one hundred percent of our obedience.

Only after appreciating and considering the cost of discipleship can we say, looking at the face of the Lord: 'Lord, I will follow you wherever you go!' I think many readers are going to say this, but if you can not say it again, I pray that you can say it after reading this post.

What does it involve? What does it mean to follow the Lord Jesus Christ in this way? If you consider this man's statement, you will notice that following the Lord Jesus leads completely to some considerations.

Decision.

This man made the personal decision to follow Jesus. "Lord, I will follow you ..." Observe how personal your decision is; «I ... You ...» This is how the Christian life begins. It begins with our recognizing who Jesus is, with our recognition that He died for us on the cross to be our Savior and that He actually lives and wants our obedience and our decision, sincere and sincere: "Lord ... I will follow you" This decision is personal, nobody has become a Christian without having made this decision, did you make this decision, what is your answer, yes ... No. ...?

Do you remember how the Lord Jesus approached Matthew, the tax collector, and said, "Follow me"? What happened? The bible reflects that; Immediately, Mateo left his job, got up and followed Jesus. This meant a personal decision for Matthew. It means the same thing for you and for any other person. Following Jesus means saying: «Lord, I will follow you». And this decision is personal.

Obedience.

Absolute obedience to Christ. He said: "Lord ...", and this word "Lord" means "Master". When you begin to follow Jesus, you have a new Master. To him you entrust the control of your life, to the one who is truly your Lord. You are no longer the one who directs your life to please you, but you bend to his will. Like Saul of Tarsus, at the time of his conversion, you also say to him: "Lord, what do you want me to do?" You bow to His authority, offering your complete obedience.

I want you to notice that this man not only said: "Lord, I will follow you", but he said: "Lord, I will follow you wherever you go". What a great decision! How to say: "Lord, from now on, I accept your plan for my life, whatever it is, I will follow you everywhere, you just have to say the word and I will obey completely." Is this how we also follow the Lord Jesus , or have we not yet reached the total delivery of our will to yours?

How glorious it is when a follower of the Lord Jesus is ready and willing to obey completely and go "everywhere"! It guides you! Is this for you? Let's consider this man's words again.
Follower of Christ

If this man had completed his decision and intention, everyone would soon know that he was a follower of Christ. If you also want to be a faithful follower of Jesus, someone willing to follow him "everywhere", you must be prepared for everyone to know.

They must tell others about him, confess their faith in him, give testimony of him every day, his life will speak eloquently of his salvation and be able to maintain, his actions demonstrate his belonging to him, and you will be happy when others will know that you are a Christian, because it is their great desire that they know they have a great Lord, such a loving Savior and such a glorious Guide.

Maybe you think: "Is not it possible to follow it secretly?" In a certain way, yes, this is possible; It is possible to be a secret disciple. I think there are many secret disciples, but here we are talking about people willing to follow Jesus Christ wherever he leads him, of people willing to be one hundred percent Christian.

But there is another way in which you will be happy to confess your Lord, and this is because of Baptism. This is the way the Lord has established for which every believer confesses his new faith in Him. This is the New Testament covenant for every believer and if you are willing to follow the Lord Jesus Christ wherever He leads you, read the story of His baptism in the Jordan, in Matthew 3: 13-17, and you will also be willing to follow Him through the waters of baptism and identify with Him, and in this way confess Him publicly as Lord and Savior.

Converse with him daily.

To follow him we can not be far from him: we accompany him and he comes with us. We go with our Great Friend and Companion, and He, our great Lord and Captain of our salvation, accompanies us. He gives us His life and we become partakers of His nature and day by day in communion with Him He guides us through the paths of His will and His plans for our lives.

All this is very high, because "the foxes have burrows and the birds of the sky of the nests, but the Son of man has nowhere to lay his head". Following Jesus in the way we have described often means misunderstanding and persecution, derision and ridicule, sometimes even imprisonment and torture, perhaps for many it also means losing a job. When this man told Jesus that he would follow him everywhere, Jesus was on the way to the cross. To follow Jesus for that man would have been to go to Calvary. The same thing means for us: to follow Jesus wherever he goes means to enter "in the communion of his sufferings". The Christian life is not a bed of roses. Think of what our salvation has cost the Lord Jesus, and then we look on His face and say: "Lord, I will follow you wherever you go!"

I hope you have understood the essence of this publication. Following Christ is a great decision we made.

It's like when Jesus told them his disciples take your cross and follow me, because it's only about following him without caring about anything. Wherever it is, we will always follow Jesus.
