In a nutshell, tolerance has to do with accepting the person or behavior of others and bearing others burden or weakness
BEARING IN ANOTHER's BURDEN
Dear we are to bear one another's burdens. This was obvious in the life of David and can be gleaned from his prayers unto the Lord:
Psalm 89:50-51 KJV
Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom the reproach of all the mighty people; [51] Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, O Lord ; wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.
In his prayer to God for the remembrance of His covenant with him (vs. 49); he began to remind God on how he had borne the reproaches or burdens of the people of Israel. These burdens he had borne right from when he killed Goliath. The Ziklag experience was not even left out when his enemies reproached and his people now thought of stoning him (1 Sam. 30:6).
Apostle Paul also gravitated along this line when he began to say
Romans 15:1-3 KJV
We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. [2] Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. [3] For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.

He was simply saying that we are to be there for one another most especially the afflicted or weak. We are to edify one another and bear one another's burdens just like Christ did for us.
Apostle Paul re-echoed:
Galatians 6:1-2 KJV
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. [2] Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
See, whenever one of us falls into sin or makes mistake; we should see that we are the one that have been attacked by the devil. This is so because as brethren, an injury to one is an injury to all.
We should all rally around such a person to cover such shame or help such a one to be out of the mess. We should not expose such a one to the world ...
2 Corinthians 2:11 KJV
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
I have come to understand that when we attack one another, the devil profits and before the world; we embarrass the body of Christ. So, watch that spear, lest it spill your brethren's blood.
Strengthening The Weakness Of One Another
Everyone has one weakness or the other. It all depends on the nature or the area of such weakness. We should learn to be our brother's keeper. We should allow our strength to overshadow other's weaknesses: to the end that when we are together, the weakness of others are not seen; rather, a collective strength.
Thus, in reacting to this, Prophet Isaiah
Isaiah 35:3-4 KJV
Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. [4] Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.
Dear, a weak hand cannot strengthen another weak hand. God had strengthened your hands spiritually, financially, morally, academically etc., so that you can strengthen others.
Apostle Paul fully practiced this gospel, as can be seen in his dealings with the Corinthian Church:
1 Corinthians 2:3 KJV
And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
He reechoed: 1 Corinthians 9:22-23 KJV
To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men , that I might by all means save some. [23] And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you .
Honey, what is your take on this? God is counting on your ability and willingness to strengthen your brethren's weakness. Having practiced this adequately, Apostle Paul had this to say:
1 Thessalonians 5:14 KJV
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men .
Certainly tolerance is allowing and allowing yourself as things and people are without making judgments to change them

Resistance isn't to bring down high good models to influence others to feel more great, yet to keep up exclusive requirements and persuade others to build up a worthy character without dismissing them when they bomb, great job tikhub

If we believe that everyone else should behave impeccably, like Christ, we will invariably be left alone, like the person in the story, for the simple reason that no one has come in the past to the stature of Christ, nor will anyone come in the future.
Tolerance is not to lower high moral standards to make others feel more comfortable, but to maintain high standards and motivate others to develop an acceptable character without rejecting them when they fail, good job tikhub
