7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, (They knew Good and Evil)...
...They used to solely rely on THEIR FATHER for what they wanted to know… (Solely dependent upon God)...
… Now they will naturally GROW INDEPENDENT from God)...
... and they knew that they were naked; (Embarrassment, Perversion enter in for the first time) and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. (The fig tree… The symbol of man’s attempt to cover himself… The false religion enters in… The National symbol of Israel, Judaism embraces works religion)(The sin of Judaism… To cover their sin by their hands and works)... 8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. (It’s what sin does to us… A natural response...To hide from the Lord … Our rebellion makes us run from the Lord) 9 Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” 10 So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.” (Losing their appetite for God already… loss of appetite for HIS WORD)... (Bad for us… Like Mcdonald’s… It goes against our fallen nature to want to avoid the BIG MAC and embrace the KALE instead) 11 And He (God) said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?” (Confession is so important…
… Confession causes sin to LOSE IT’S GRIP on me… (It doesn’t forgive us… But it’s the path to FORGIVENESS)...
12 Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me (Blaming God… Blaming others begins)… (Stop doing that in your life… It’s a fallen flaw… Take personal responsibility), she gave me of the tree, and I ate.” (??? I didn’t know what it was ???)13 And the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” (??? I didn’t know what I was doing… The serpent tricked me... As I was playing with temptation!!!)14 So the LORD God said to the serpent:
“Because you have done this,
You are cursed more than all cattle,
And more than every beast of the field;
On your belly you shall go,
And you shall eat dust
All the days of your life.
… The elevated serpent becomes the LOWLY SNAKE… (Isaiah 65:25)…
25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together,
The lion shall eat straw like the ox,
And dust shall be the serpent’s food.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,”
Says the LORD.
15 And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.”
(They would be enemies…
...THUS… When a relationship is BASED IN SIN ???… The TWO will eventually become enemies)…
… (A relationship built ON SIN…Always goes this way… (This is why we keep telling and teaching the truth of God's word)... It LEADS to LIFE!!!…
… THIS IS THE FIRST MENTION of THE GOSPEL !!!...
... It being HER SEED as the HOPE FOR HUMANITY ???... Seemed an impossibility… (This speaks of God’s plan for Jesus the PROMISED SEED… The MESSIAH)...
16 To the woman He said:
“I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception;
In pain you shall bring forth children; (no longer painless, glorious, and easy) … Your desire shall be for your husband,
And he shall rule over you.”
(Woman’s condition ???...We see woman who would rather take a daily beating than leave their man)...
17 Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’:
“Cursed is the ground for your sake;
In toil you shall eat of it
All the days of your life.
18 Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you,
And you shall eat the herb of the field. (Bitter)
19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread..
(Hard work, first sweat... Exhaustion.. workaholic)
Till you return to the ground,
For out of it you were taken;
For dust you are,
And to dust you shall return.” (Death enters in)
20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve (Changes from isha to Eve, "the giver of life"…
“in our wife dwells the Lord?”... THE LIFE), because she was the mother of all living.
21 Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them. (God would provide the sacrifice)(Already faith at work)...
22 Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever” (In this fallen condition… This was mercy)— 23 therefore the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. 24 So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east (East end) of the garden of Eden (East of Eden we have heard), and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.
