Saul was anointed king by the prophet, and proclaimed by the people, but he was rejected by God, for his disobedience. Saul disobeyed, because he despised the prophet. People disobey because they do not trust. The process of obedience is: You believe, you trust and you obey. Neither the enemy cares whether you believe or not; the Bible says that even demons believe and tremble. The world wants to make you lose your confidence, so you disobey. And you get to this point, when you lose sight of where God took you from.

In 1 Samuel 15, God gives instructions to Saul, through the prophet: Defeat and destroy the Amalekites. But Saul took booty, using as an excuse the pressure of the people and that he was going to offer. Never spiritualize your disobedience. To say that you do not tithe, but you give to the poor, is to dress your disobedience with nobility. It is noble to give to the poor, but that is after tithe, because your obedience is in tithing and then giving to the poor. But he who does not want to tithe because he lost confidence in the institution that man represents, dresses his disobedience as noble, because he knows he has to give; but it is still disobedience.

Samuel had been battling with God about Saul, and God's response was: Are you going to continue battling for someone that I already discarded? In the same way, there are people who, no matter how much you pray for them, will not change; you have to let them go. There are very competent people, but with bad attitude; and you let them in your life, thinking that you can change their attitude. Surround yourself with people with the right attitude, because those are the people that the Holy Spirit can use and transform. Whoever thinks he knows everything, can not be taught anything; but, the one who has the right attitude, is because he knows where God took him from. And this was something that Saul did not understand.

"17 And Samuel said, Though you were small in your own eyes, have you not been made head of the tribes of Israel, and the Lord has anointed you king over Israel? 18 And Jehovah sent you on a mission and said: Go, destroy the sinners of Amalek, and fight against them until you finish them. 19 Why have you not heard the voice of the LORD, but have returned to the spoil and done evil in the sight of the Lord? "1 Samuel 15: 17-19

In these verses, the prophet Samuel reminds Saul: When you were nobody, God chose you, and see where he has placed you. Maybe you're still not where you want to be, but you can be sure you're better than where you were. Maybe you do not have everything you want, but you have more than you deserve. Maybe you do not have everything you want, but everything you need. See how far God has brought you. But we forget; We forget who God used to take you to where you are, and we despise them, and we do not understand where God took us from. And one of the biggest problems we have is forgetting that God called us, when we were nobody, and put people in our path that opened doors for us.

Maybe you do not have everything you want, but you have more than you deserve. Perhaps you have not achieved everything you would like to achieve, but you are on the way to achieving the perfection of God in your life. Maybe there are things you would like to have achieved, and you still have not, but you have more than you ever could have imagined. Before they did not give anything for you, they said that you could not do it, that you could not reach it, but God took you out of that place, and only to Him you must obey 100%, because it was He who took you out.

Saul's problem was that he disobeyed, and he did it because he thought things were going to come to him anyway. But, in this life, there are no coincidences. Things do not come to you at all; Things come to you because God plans to reach you. Even when people make mistakes against you, the God you serve is able to turn all of that into a blessing, and your biggest problem can become your greatest testimony.

If you look at your life well, you will see that it is impossible for you to have planned for everything that had to happen to happen to open the doors that the Lord has opened for you. All the contacts, the connections, the divine moments, the doors, the places, everything that seemed like it would not happen, only God in his infinite providence could make all that work for good. The question is: Why are you not going to obey the God who, when you did not think you could be someone, believed in you? Are you going to believe more than you are?

You will never be able to manifest the power of God in your life, while you forget who was the one who took you to the place where you are. And that was Saul's problem; he despised Samuel, because now Samuel was the prophet, while he was the king. Never despise people that others despise, but God put them in your way to open doors that others closed to you; because, when neither Saul himself saw anything in him, Samuel was praying that Saul would remain there. And how sad it is that we despise the people who are praying that God will not take us out. We forget about the people God uses to unleash new destinies in our lives.

If you want the power of God to be manifested in your life, always recognize where God took you from. Give thanks to God because, although you are not where you want, you could not be where you are, if your hand had not saved you.
