In Matthew 8, a centurion approaches Jesus to ask for his paralytic servant ... "7 And Jesus said to him," I will go and heal him. 8 The centurion answered and said, "Lord, I am not worthy to enter under my roof; just say the word, and my servant will heal. 9 For I also am a man under authority, and I have soldiers under my command; and I say to this one: Go, and go; and to the other: Come, and come; and to my servant: Do this, and do it. 10 When Jesus heard it, he marveled and said to those who followed him, "Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found so much faith in Israel." The faith that amazes Jesus is one based on love. This is a faith product of seeing a miracle in the life of someone you love. Neither the centurion nor the Syro-Phoenician woman could enjoy the miracle immediately, although the miracle happened at once. They had to get home to see that the miracle had been done. Their love led them to distance themselves from those they loved to see the miracle; and the strength of the faith that they had was a product of love.

Many want to exercise faith, and for this they seek great goals, dreams, ambitions. You must progress, set goals and have dreams, but the greatest force in your life is love. When you love someone and you want something to happen in your life, then you can truly believe. The greatest faith you exercise for those you love. The problem is that you have been so disappointed by those you have loved, that you have stopped loving, and therefore, you have ceased to have faith. You want to have a better life, you try to have faith, but you have not realized that your wounds from the past lead you to not love with the intensity necessary to believe for something more powerful.

Many believe that marriage is changed, arranged or maintained because you have a new house; But the basis of your marriage was not a house, but love. Your love made you forget all the defects, it made you dream that you could reach new things. Today you are trying to achieve certain things to maintain love, without realizing that it is love that allows you to achieve.

One day you must stop asking God to do a miracle in your life, and you must become someone's miracle. Ask God to show you whom you can bless.

In this story of the centurion, what we observe is a man who loved a person with intensity. In another of the gospels we are told that it was the Jews who called Christ, and said to him: Do to him the miracle that he wants, because he has built us a synagogue. This man had given great offerings, and the Jews - who were not very much in agreement with Christ, but simply committed to that man because he had built a great temple for them - sought Jesus to perform a miracle for that man. The powerful thing is that, being the only opportunity that this man has to ask for a miracle from God, he does not ask for it directly for himself, but for someone whom he loves. This teaches us that you do not have to be a centurion, but you can be the servant of a centurion. Your service can take you to a level where people in authority intercede on your behalf in your time of need.

Many want positions of power, thinking that having power resolves their problems; but having power you will create more problems; If you did not know how to solve your problems without power, you will solve them with power in your hand. But how powerful this servant became, and what love this man had for that servant who, when this man went before Jesus, asked for a miracle for him.

Ask God that, in your life, your prayers are not the only ones that God hears. Serve in such a way that there are people who are praying for you. Your service to God and your service to men is what makes people in authority intercede for you. Try that, when you need a miracle, there is someone in authority who, instead of asking for himself, asks for you.

Never allow your ego to interrupt your service. Take off the title of the head; Serve whoever it is, as you can; do the best. Forget if you applaud or not. The people you serve are the ones who, one day, will give you access to what, otherwise, you would never have had.

The word says that, even if you work for ungodly men, do it as for God, because He is not unjust to forget the work of your hands. If your boss is not a very good boss, serve him as if he were God, because he will see your ability to recognize the position and honor it, in spite of his character; God sees your heart and you will always have someone in high places who will intercede on your behalf.
