Oftentimes most people believe that setting goals and reaching some level of satisfaction with the tangible outcome are things that should happen early enough. As a matter of fact, this to an extent is true. That is why every beginning of the year people makes new plans and strives towards actualizing them. However, there are situations that despite the efforts and sacrifices made, it sometimes seems like an individual labored in vain.

Actually, for such persons, making fresh plans at this kind of moment (end of the year) is considered as a complete waste of time. Well, this pessimistic attitude didn't just start in our generation. But in this article, we'll get to understand why we should never give up despite the frustrations and failures we might encounter in our daily lives.
Personally, Luke 5:1-7 happen to contain one of the most intriguing story that literally showcase why Christians should be hopeful. According to the scripture; Peter, James and John who were fishermen toiled all through the night without a single catch. From research, I discovered that the best time for fishing is in the night. So it means that Peter and the rest really understood the nature of their work and equally tried all they could in order to achieve success. But still, their best was not good enough. That should have been enough reason for Peter to deny Jesus his ship when He requested to make use of it. But that notwithstanding, despite the futile trip and hard-luck experienced, he still had a free mind to lean out his ship to Jesus for His Ministerial work.
Now, lets bring it a little closer to ourselves...
In today's world, it's slightly difficult to see people react positively when they're faced with challenges. Unfortunately some have gone astray because they feel that they've served God long enough without benefiting from those amazing promises meant for the true sons and daughters of God. But for Peter, even though he wasted all night and had nothing to show forth with; he still believed so much on Jesus Christ. Although he knew very well that fishes can't easily be caught during the day; he somehow had to lay aside his own ideology. That's why he said in verse 5
Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

I really might not understand how the year 2018 treated you or the things you probably went through, but what I'm sure of is that God isn't done with you yet. You may likely think that it's over for you this year and there's no need to try again. But wait; listen carefully to that small voice that's saying child there's still time to launch out into the deep.
Maybe from January till now you've been wandering on the shallow grounds because you were too scared to take those risks. I just want you to know that it's not yet over. You don't have to wait until next year. Just like Peter, you can make that great catch you least expected this last week if you believe.
God Bless You!
