Mateo 12:33-35
“For the tree is known by the fruit, For the mouth speaks from the abundance of the heart. The good man, from the good treasure of the heart, brings out good things; and the bad man, out of the evil treasure brings out bad things.”

Mateo 7:16-18 dice:
“By their fruits you will know them. Do they gather grapes from the thorns, or figs from the thorns? Thus, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. The good tree can not bear bad fruit, nor the bad tree can bear good fruit.”

A fruit is always the result of the tree that is behind it. No fruit can be produced without a tree and no fruit can be different from the tree that produces it. The Lord uses this figure here to tell us that what a man gives is the result and the direct analogy of the treasure he has in his heart. A good treasure produces good fruit, and a bad treasure produces bad fruit.

Proverbios 4:23
“Above all else, guard your heart; Because of it flows life.”

From the heart flows life, that is, the results, the fruit that we give in our lives. The heart and what is inside it determine the fruits that will come out of it.

Having seen that the result we give in our lives depends on the treasure kept in our hearts, and assuming that we all want to bear good fruit, we will continue to see the proper treasure for this fruit.

Proverbios 4:20-21

The Word of God heard and kept with a noble and good heart is what gives good fruit, abundant life, exactly as God wants us to have

God knows the hearts of all of us, and as 1 Corinthians 4: 5 makes clear, the day will come when the Lord "who will also clear the hidden things of darkness, and will manifest the intentions of the hearts; and then each one will receive his praise from God. Many are ready to do many things in the name of God. But what He wants is simply that we give him our heart. He does not want the fruit, our acts, but the tree that produces that fruit. If that tree - our heart - is in His hands, then the fruit that will be produced will be good because it will come from a heart that has been given to Him and that is directed by HIM.

With all of the above, it should be clear that God is interested in our hearts. However, as we will see, he is not only interested in it, but he wants it in its entirety.

The heart is the tree on which the fruit we give depends. If what we have in our heart is good, then the fruit we will give will also be good and vice versa.
