This is proof that we can store pictures on the Steem blockchain in the form of text pretty easily. This is cool because we currently store all of our pictures on centralized services and trust that they haven't been altered and that they will be accessible for all time. Clearly, in a decentralized space, we should not be doing this.

The biggest problem with inline text stored pictures is that all the blockchain displays have to implement interpretation and display seemlessly.

Indeed, the coding system used is Base64, so there are only 64 characters used. Technically there should be room for a lot more characters than that, because a byte can hold 256 values.
