Why I Purchased ENG TokenssteemCreated with Sketch.

in steemengine •  6 years ago

I usually do not write about things such as the tokens I purchase and why. However, I decided to make an exception for this one.

ENG is the token that is tied to Steem-Engine. This is the base token which all activity on that platform operates.

The importance of Steem-Engine to the Steem ecosystem cannot be overstated. Since coming online at the beginnings of the year, this platform continues to grow as a direct result of the innovation of the team members. We are already seeing projects such as PALnet created on the Steem blockchain and tied to Steem-Engine through its token.

Steem-Engine is, in my opinion, going to be at the core of a great deal of activity on Steem going forward. Even if Steemit Inc does bring out SMTs, Steem-Engine is looking to go far beyond that. According to @aggroed, he would like to make Steem-Engine like a decentralized NASDAQ.

What I like about this project is the team's commitment to Steem. This is not a group that got frustrated with what is taking place and bailed. They were not lured away by a "shiny" new blockchain with lots of hype. Instead, they remained true to Steem and build a vital component to our future.

Of course, none of this is financial advice so the usual disclaimers apply.

That said, I wanted to show some support for the project. My view is that Steem is going to be enormous because of what is being offered on here. With the flexibility that Steem-Engine provides, a great many of the issues discussed are instantly solved. If one does not like how Steem handles something, create your own token. We will end up seeing a lot of this taking place.

But why buy some ENG tokens?

In my view, this post here sums it all up.

https://steempeak.com/steem-engine/@aggroed/steem-engine-powered-tribes-pricing-guide-for-creating-and-distributing-smart-contract-community-tokens-scot-through-steem

Reading through that, one cannot help but to notice a line such as this: 1 ENG per active user.

Consider what happens when there are some communities on here with hundreds of thousands of active users. That means a lot of ENG is going to be staked. I have not found how many tokens total are available but, like STEEM, it will get swallowed up quickly.

ENG, in my view, could become a scarce resource.

Over time, I will look at add more to my holdings. The exciting aspect to all of this is the number of directions one can go in. I will admit that I do not know most of the tokens on Steem-Engine. We also have to concede that many of them could end up being nothing. There are, however, some good projects popping up that people can support. Being able to move into those tokens could offer potential rewards far above what one typically receives elsewhere.

It was not too long ago that the only choice on here was STEEM and SBD. Since both are pretty much tied together, in terms of the platform, we had one choice. While I feel it is a good one, long term, it is nice to see other options appearing.

The key for me is to keep growing my holdings. Getting into different projects offers alternative opportunities. This is important to me. I do feel communities have a lot of value and Steem-Engine seems to be at the forefront of putting that together. This is a site that could capture a great deal of activity going forward.

Of course, this only enhances my holding in STEEM (SP) along with some of the other tokens. We are at the point where things are starting to get very exciting. How long until we see a project on Steem that is a "household" name?

My guess it is going to happen.

Very well stated, I too am starting to collect ENG in the speculation of what the future may hold 🙌

A good token to have and rather limited supply. Do you own any of the miners ?

Miners are a lot of $$$. I still want one though.

You can buy them in fractions as well :)

I have one PALMM and 3 ENGM.

Nothing really off the ENGM so far....the PALMM, I think sheds a couple PAL each day.

Do you know what the supply is on the ENG @bitcoinflood?

Not sure only the info from steem engine which shows a total supply of 4 million that looks like it has a Max of 9007 trillion? Now sure at what rate etc. Will see what I can find out

100% agree. Already the relationship between PALnet and regular Steem is peculiar. I am reading this on Partiko and am incentivized to switch over to PALnet to view and comment.

So Many Great Things Happening on this Block Chain and Steem-Engine Right Now @taskmaster4450

With some luck and elbow grease I see ENG similar to what BNB is now. Not just an exchange but a means to an end with new sites and features being added

I literally read through most of the content of your article which I normally don't due to overflooding of posts on steem platform. I am posting this via palnet actually. You got me interested in Eng which I didn't plan to make any investment. Thanks for sharing this.

Shhhhhhhh.... Don’t tell anyone!

Great article.
Can I ask you something? How do you stake ENG tokens? I have bought some of them but I cannot see the Stake button.

I mean I can see the Lock within the miners tokens but with ENG I don't see it, so If you could explain me a bit I will appreciate it.

Thanks.

And here I thought Enigma already had the ENG ticker.
