Better that way

I have stopped watching the News bulletins in NZ as they are absolute garbage 🚮🗑️

They try to cause division and never report on things they should, so i will watch alternative smaller News channels which actually have the news.

Prices are going up everywhere but i suppose in a lower income country it bites even more.

Have you thought about moving to another country where the wages are higher?

I know you said no one wants to leave there country but i do, if my family would agree we would move to Australia as wages are high even for simple tasks like stacking supermarket shelves - $38 Aus per hour.

If you are trained in something you would make lots of $$

I know it's easy for me to type this but.....there is no harm at looking at other countries wages online - like window shopping.

Stay safe my friend!

I was in a long process of preparing to move, which started with learning the new language on my own, informing myself about laws and regulations, and finally because of the closed circle of "finding a job and finding a place to live" which depend on each other and make the process almost impossible, I had decided simply to go there and judge on the spot what could be done. Then I got sick and for the second month I can't recover. So my luggage is sitting at one end of the room half-arranged, in the new suitcase that I bought according to my current criteria and plans, almost everything is already bought and packed... and I can't go. That's the big controversy right now. I'm not one to just sit around and complain, bothering others with my problems. But it seems that this overwhelming stress of leaving for a place with no one to go to and not really knowing what you're going to do is proving difficult for my body to process. Also, I think it took me years to swallow the fact that abroad, I would have to do some very menial work while at the same time having a university degree in my home country. But that's the way it is, and now I'll even be happy to find any work at all, because as you say, the pay in other countries is decent even for simple tasks, and also, there are the most amazing positions, while in my home country they usually combine from 3 to 5 positions in one, usually low payed...
Thank you for your concern and advice! And for your support too! They really mean a lot in these difficult times!
