🌞 Solar Installed 🌞

in steemexclusive β€’Β  2 years agoΒ

Yesterday i got my Solar Panels installed along with my Inverter which took them around 5 hours to complete, i am now just waiting on my Battery so am only running on solar in the daytime.

We have a nice Sunny day here today which is great to get a whole days data on how the system is going, its a 5Kwh system and today we have seen it reach that.

Here is a screenshot from the Inverter APP which shows the current (3.47pm) power being generated plus what the system has produced today, i am still trying to understand them terminology LOL

The installers arrived around 8.30am and discussed how it would happen, they were really good and they suggested 2 x lots of 6 panels instead of the initial plan of 3 lots of x 4.

This now means i still have another roof site which could take another 6 panels if i decided to expand this system.

Here are some photos of the install/parts..

Its pretty amazing to think the sun is currently powering my laptop

It sure is, but it did cost a bit in the first place remember

This is amazing! Now you don't have to worry about a lack of electricity in the future. I'm curious about the cost of it.

Hey Bro
The plan with this was to control my own energy needs as i trust the Sun more than any Government or power company. - i see countries like your's and ones like South Africa and Australia struggling to provide enough power.

This system will have a Tesla power wall πŸ”‹ installed shortly, this means we can run the house in the daylight hours off Solar panels while charging the πŸ”‹at the same time.

Once we run out of daylight/sunshine the πŸ”‹takes over and should run the house all night - the other cool thing about this or any other similar battery is i can choose when i buy power if i need it - that means i can buy at the lowest rate and hold that power.

This whole system is a 5KWH system which cost me $36,500 NZD
20K NZD for Powerwall Battery πŸ”‹
16,500K NZD for 12 x panels/inverter/wiring and installation
this has at current electricity prices has a return on investment of 5 years - Power will go up here soon which will make that period shorter

A cheaper system with less panels and a way cheaper battery πŸ”‹setup would also do the trick.

Okay it is a Hybrid system! It's a great choice. Since we are struggling with the electricity, I was looking for the same kind of system here in Sri Lanka. As per my knowledge, Tesla πŸ”‹ are not yet available in Sri Lanka, there are certainly other brands that offer similar systems at more affordable prices. The system you mentioned (without Tesla), has similar price tag here too.

Also, we have an option to sell excess power units back to the electricity board. But guess what, our government is bankrupt and nobody will get a penny! Despite this, investing in a hybrid system can still be a smart decision for both cost savings and reducing carbon footprint. It’s certainly a long-term investment with current crisis. You made the smartest choice! πŸ‘Œ

Congratulations!

It's not me and it makes me excited! I hope the batteries arrive soon. It must feel great to have clean, independent power!!!!

I never knew staring at solar panels could be so exciting LOL

Being able to make my OWN clean power is exciting for me

Thanks for stopping by and have a good day

Thanks mate

Hopefully should stsrtnseeing those panels pulling bsck some of their investment soon? You worked out your "free power" date yet? My guess would be some time in 2026??

So my ROI is 5 years based on current power prices here in NZ

Hearing rumors power pricing is going in increase here which will shorten that period

That's the plan LOL

This is incredible! I feel like I am already launching the solar Project In Nigeria πŸ˜€. But i am sure a day like this is Coming.

Congratulations on your new electricity relief...

Let the Sun Shine...🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞!

Thank you very much - we had a great day producing electricity yesterday

Let's see what today brings

Hope you've charged the battery for two days. In my training in solar installation, I was taught to charge the battery for two days until the battery Indicator shows fully charged!

During this time, it will not be wise to start using it yet.

Thank you for your support

What a chase that was. It was so close.

What a game - we were so close....

It's great that the solar panels are finally installed. Do keep us updated on how they are doing.

That's the plan mate
