What Makes Your Post Less Spamy? | Beginner's Tutorial

These days, with the newly introduced " Recruitment and Retention Rewards System" we can see many new members come into the platform. So it is better to recall some good practices of writing quality content.

Enough Content Length

I have noticed many writers use very few words in their posts. But this reduces the quality of the post. Your posts are not just for getting rewards but also to improve the quality of the platform. If you are going to make a post, try to write enough information about your subject.

Let's say you went to the beach. Then you can write about where you went, with whom you went, why you selected that place, the experience you had, will you go to that place again, why? with some nice photographs. I prefer at least 150 words suitable for a description post. Lets content means less value.

If you are doing a photo post

If you are doing a photo post, try to write the background of the photo. You can write what is this photo about? when you captured it, why it special, what is the camera type etc.

Always try to add a series of photos rather than using a single photo. The following post from my favorite steemit writer @ernaerningsih is a great example of a quality photo post.

Give a story

Always try to give a story rather than just facts. It increases the attraction of your post.

Reading makes a full man

Try to read good posts of experienced writers before making yours. Carefully look at their content organization and other strengths. Then do something unique and extraordinary than them. Don't forget to make friends in steemit. (extra fact)

Use markdown

Use enough markdown to decorate your post. Use correct line spaces among paragraphs to make them more readable. Also never add direct links on your posts if not it is really necessary. It makes your post looks spammy.

There so many other things that can improve the quality of posts. But in this post, I'm addressing very few of them which I saw recently.
