Today's topic is a little different because firstly, I'm not sure I've ever written on and about Caturday, that day which is every day actually, not just one day a week, for us cat servants. Then it touches on things that really interest me in terms of the quality and lifestyle of us humans.
I was actually going to write a post about who teaches cats to live a healthy lifestyle. Because someone once wrote that he cured his mother of stomach cancer by teaching her to live like a cat - to go to sleep after eating. Yes, I was going to write that. That one must live like a cat, and many people undoubtedly do. The Spanish certainly when they have time at lunchtime with their infamous siesta, for example. But then, mentally examining the lives of our cats and their daily schedule, I remembered that they don't actually go to sleep after every meal. Maybe it's because their feeding schedule was invented by a human (a dumb and uneducated being for sure, lol).
It was invented by the human with the idea, of course, that they would be fed as late as possible the last time of the day, at midnight, so that they could then leave the humans alone. If they are fed at 8 p.m., for example, some confusion may occur. Especially with one of our cats, called Assencho, a black and white monster, who always claims that he hasn't been fed anyway. From 8 p.m. it's a long time until humans go to bed and cats have plenty of time left over to harass them. But they were fed at midnight. And shortly after they are fed, the kittens clean themselves a bit as usual and disappear somewhere.
This is their daily schedule. I.e. they sleep after the first meal of the day. But not after the last one.
And yet, can this be called a healthy lifestyle? Or half healthy? Or what?
I'm sure that everything cats do is good for them, and after all, they can teach us a lot, especially how to relax and then how to do the things we like. Because, personally, I have a problem with relaxing. I always act as if there is something very urgent that needs to be done, only now, today, tomorrow will be late. I constantly set myself tasks that eat up a huge amount of my time, which for the most part are pointless, realistically speaking, but I constantly have to keep myself busy, set goals, not sit idle, because somehow if I sit without doing anything, just resting, I feel like I'm missing something, that I could have done something and didn't because I was careless or lazy or something.
When I'm busy and doing things, or when I try to do everything that depends on me, then at least I can't blame myself that it was my fault if things didn't happen. Maybe that's the reason - to avoid accusations or self-accusations that I didn't do something and the fault for not happening is mine.
And that's where cats come in with their healthy lifestyle.
First, cats are notoriously guilt-free. They are always right, everything they have done is right. And what's more - they usually do nothing outside of their daily action plan, which is made by them personally and for pleasure. There are no "shoulds", no duties, no "jobs".
Our three cats are fed and off on their important errands. They are going somewhere I don't know where, but certainly not because they have some work to do. They go somewhere where they get more and more variety of food (after I feed them well or before), somewhere where they can lie down warm - one for example smelled like sheep last year, which means he went to sleep with the sheep in some stable. 😹
Our only unneutered cat goes somewhere for other entertainments for sure and although I am a responsible citizen I couldn't bring myself to neuter him after the unfortunate castration of the other two male cats, but that's another story.
So, pleasures, pleasures, pleasures, total enjoyment of life - this is what I see in the lives of cats. And now I wonder if they see the same thing or say to themselves like I do - fuck life, why is it so hard, I don't know how to cope, what to do. Hardly 😸
In the pictures is our vanished princess, which is still missed a lot 😿

Soul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you. |
Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|
A very nice and interesting post. Yes, I also think that just a little nap after lunch would do a lot for our health. Unfortunately, especially at a young age, we often don't have the time.
I like to lie down after lunch for half an hour, sometimes longer, and listen to my inner voice. Well, sometimes there are also things I want to think about. Then I imagine I'm a cat sitting in front of a mouse hole waiting for the mouse. I'm not waiting for the mouse, but for the next thought. This exercise creates some silence in my head. Yes, cats can teach us a lot.

If we could constantly and easily control the entry and exit of thoughts in our head, it would surely improve our mental and all-round state. Unfortunately, this ability is not given to us on a daily basis, we have to try, make an effort to do it. To eliminate this constant and incessant stream of relentless stuff that invades our head that is not even usually ours. This is a very serious and long topic for discussion.
On the other hand, I often exemplify the Spanish as a healthy lifestyle, you don't even have to be a cat. 😸 It is no coincidence that this nation has the longest and increasing life expectancy in the EU. I personally have always had a hard time sleeping in the afternoon, it was a problem for me even in kindergarten, 😅 but it is definitely a factor for a longer life, that is what comes out of all the observations.

Did I say something wrong? 😹 They don't even require anyone to spoil them. They were born to command. You know the saying: A cat doesn't beg for food, it demands.😸

The beauty I show in the pictures is their sister. She disappeared years ago and I still mourn her.😿 She was a real princess.
