Over the last 10 months promoting #Steemit and the #Steem Blockchain, starting off with #Promo-UK and then rolling out #Promo-Steem, it has evolved naturally that there is a market to fill in the gap between #Steemfest organised by @roelandp and the promotional days and presentations/podcasts/tv/interviews we do to promote #Steemit and #Steem.

The idea of #Steemfair will be to educate new users to #Cryptocurrency, #Steemit and #Steem, at the same time as providing existing users on #Steemit to showcase their accounts.

As the #Steemit community grows and more people become aware of Cryptocurrencies, I strongly believe that there is a great opportunity for the #Steemit Community to engage with the masses and #Steemfair will be a mechanism that will allow anyone, in any Country and anywhere in the World to see these events not only being held but to see how they are put together.

Over the last few days I have been putting together some budgets for venues / promotional material and would be happy to share with you some of the ideas I have in mind.

Basically, I am thinking of an Event that will be a mix of Seminars, Workshops, Presentations, Stalls, Tables, Showcasing Accounts, On-boarding New Users, Promotions etc...

It would be great to have a Skype Chat in the next few days once I have got a feel for the first venue location and speakers etc.

Hi @stephenkendal ! This is a huge concept and huge project too, very connected with promo-steem but as you say, a similar look to steemfest but expanded to every single country a steem ambassador would be willing to promote.

Great initiative, because people who do so, and later post, will get rewarded, and this will help them compensate the costs inqured in the promo event. Also, would some people with fewer resources be able to apply for a micro loan to make the event possible, before getting the rewards after posting about it?

By the way, I posted almost simultanously with this post you made, a post regarding a "Steemit (For the Freedom of People) Awareness Tour" that could be made by @dannyshine if he likes the idea.

Looking forward to your thoughts on this one.

(For me it is all about educating the public on Blockchain, Cryptocurrencies, #Steemit and the #Steem Blockchain)
and i also think its really good idea and also time to bring awairness in people and more need to bring awairness in educated persons like professors doctors and some others bcz i notice that the educated people still think that thes blockchains system is only frod and they believe on job still and also in those who want to intrest in invest for some business, and this micro business is a good oppurtunity for all them if they understnd it
and i believe you that you have many talent to describe it well with others and now the more good plan with @steemfair ........thank you so much sir to give a new idea to all who are part of promo work and who will be part of promo work

Your way of motivating people and arranging events to promote steemit platform is really huge achievement and remarkable.

I wish you come In my country and arrange a seminar and bring awareness to the people who are unknown to this network.

I think this is a timely Idea. I have recently joined steemit, and trying to get folk to come here from main stream music sites has been somewhat tricky to say the least.
Raising awareness of the world of cryptocurrency whilst integrating Steem within that package would be a wonderful initiative.

#steemfair and #steempromo seems to be great initiatives. Good to see that they will work together. I think these initiatives should be balanced with handholding of new users on Steemit as well. I have just started https://steemit.com/@steemladder using which I will be educating the new joinees on the steps they need to take get themselves to know more about the platform.

Once we cross the path we quickly forget the challenges that we had faced and how we had solved them. So creating this new account is also helping me retrace my journey and I am noting down all the issues so that I can make a tutorial about how to address each of them.

I have tried to automate a couple of stuff and I keep hitting the wall because of the bandwidth issues. Once I am able to transfer more Steem Power from my personal account I should be able to reach out to more newcomers and give them the initial push. In the mean time I might need to limit reaching out smaller set until the account has sufficient Steem Power.

I am also happy to see that the UK is involved as I am from the UK and don't like missing out on oppertunitys because we are behind with tech

Like getting a UK version of the robinhood app - with is now looking into adding crypto to its exchange = Free crypto trading for all Well USA only until they expand

This is a great idea @stephenkendal.

I'm always a supporter of educating people about steemit and the blockchain in general. I keep thinking of how much more different my life would be be if initiatives such as this one existed and reached me sooner.

I do the best I can with peer-to-peer exchanges, but this will help the most people in the least time, so Yay!

PS. If you ever look towards Africa, Nigeria is a VERY promising place 😁

I have an interest in and some experience of event management. I would be happy to help - especially with Manchester. Hey! @stephenkendal I'm impressed by the way you are promoting this great platform to the world. You are a REAL HERO of steemit who is not only promoting the best platform to the world but give awareness to the community who living in poverty and want to earn and invest in this platform to generate some revenue.

Good to see steem getting UK promotion, I'm currently living in US but from the UK and when I'm telling my UK (north east) friends about it they often seem puzzled by the whole idea, like they still think its 2001 and the internet has only just been invented, cryptocurrency seems a long way away for many of them.

Great idea.

As an addon could we get as many as possible of the SteemFairs to broadcast live through DLive.

Then set up a simple website Steemfair.tv , put all the live streams on a single page (or possibly through a clickable map if a lot of them) and then promote the heck out of that website all over the place.

Maybe even thunderclap it with @fitzgibbon.

Happy to help coordinate this if help needed.

Great idea and i aggree with you that;

its all about educating the public on Blockchain, Cryptocurrencies, #Steemit and the #Steem Blockchain and I think an event like #Steemfair that can be replicated in any Town, City or Country, tailored by demand, would be a game changer for the #Steemit Community.
