Firstly, a big thank you to @aggroed . What a legend he's been for the tens of thousands of new users making their way to Steemit. Secondly, @minnowsupport what an amazi... wait, that's @aggroed too, yeah, top man! Thirdly, @surpassinggoogle for pushing me to enter initially and providing some 'gas'. Fourthly, the folks that put my name in the hat with their votes. And last but not least, everyone who has given me comments/up-votes in the past few months. Cheers!

A vision statement of what a better alternative would look like

In the future I see a correction from Mother Earth herself, or with a push from an object from Space. This should not be looked on as a catastrophe, just another chance to do it right, all over again.

Sorry, but this is the way it has been (ask the dinosaurs if you see any), and the way it will be for this Earth. It should be celebrated, not feared.

$520 excluding Steemfest ticket price, i have no idea what this could cost. It is with great humbleness, that i will gladly cover the addition cost of my girlfriend. (oh, scratch that, she's just read this blog and has decided to go sight-seeing instead)

Summary

In my opinion, the aim of this contest is to send the Steemian who has the most to offer to this community and in particular, the Minnows among us. With all due respect for the contest judges, i feel this user is @robertdurst10 who shows an amazing keenness for the technology, boasts an excellent plan, and perhaps is in need of the most financial support, to make him realize his dream.

But hey, if you want to send an extra Minnow to shake this dudes hand, i'll gladly accept.
