Wow. I was planning on writing to you later actually, you have been on my mind again today.
Well as you know, I was run over by a car and basically disabled -- and due to my activism the state is burying my file. Presumably due to my very public activism against state related police/political corruption.
The police and hospital and politicians are interfering/ignoring me, in this and it is ruining me and they know what that they are doing.
I have just recently started being able to actually get out of the house and around (with help) and Steemfest is only a dream for me, physically and $$ wise so this post lifted my spirits.
Just to have a chance for a guy that does not travel or cannot do much these days -- is nice.

I was blessed to attend Steemfest the First in Amsterdam, and I'm sure almost everyone in attendance would agree that it was one of the best weekends in all of life! I want to see how @roelandp tops his incredible self with Steemfest 2 in Lisbon. I also want to share my wealth of yoga knowledge with everyone who wants to play or needs relief of any kind!!!
I want to attend Steemfest 2 with my travel buddy @everlove and (hopefully!) @quinneaker. @everlove has already been generously gifted a plane ticket by @theprophet0, @aggroed, and @steemfestdreams. I will do everything I can to get there as well while keeping my expenses as low as possible.
I live in the most sustainable ecovillage I know about, the @gardenofeden, because it is the most righteous cause I have found thus far in life. I don't shop at stores, go to movies, eat at restaurants, or go on trips; instead, I dedicated all my resources towards helping others through our outreach. I witness the living example of how much can be accomplished, how many lives can be profoundly changed, how deeply the Earth can be affected when we work together, so I choose to donate my time, energy, and wicked money making skillz to the @gardenofeden.
I would be so thankful to the Steemit community for sending me to Steemfest 2! By keeping my costs as low as possible for this pilgrimage, more people are served as I will have more to direct towards helping others!
We feed tens of thousands of free meals a year, save hundreds of thousands of pounds of trash from the landfill, house hundreds of people who need a real chance at life, and offer hope to people across the world that a better way is possible! I am glad to see more people joining in crowdfunding trips to SteemFest this year. Now that some people with real stake are starting to do it, my little campaign feels kinda silly.
Well done. In one post, you have gotten more support than I have been able to raise in several posts this SteemFest and last years. I started the @steemfestdreams account last year and have never made any reward myself except of course followers that I have gained.
All of the rewards that my posts raised have gone into making dreams come true for Steemians. We bought a few tickets and made a few donations but never as big as 1000 SBD!
I really want to go SteemFest this year
I am planning on making it to Portugal, but at this point I have not figured out how to fund my trip. I have raised funds for others but not for myself and I am taking care of my father who is very sick and close to the end. So I am not sure how everything will play out.
The STEEM that I have earned over the past 10 months is now worth more money than I have ever had in my life. I don't quite feel right asking to win this contest if it can go to a more deserving person who needs more assistance. If I have to, I could use some of my STEEM to get there. It's kind of a difficult decision though as that is my life savings at this point and I want to continue to grow it.

I could not attend last year's Steemfest but made a promise to myself that I would make the next Steemfest come hell or high water.
You may know me as the host of Steemit Open Mic, a weekly, live music venue contest in its 38th week now and sponsored by @pfunk. We give 300 steem each week to Steemit musicians who enter the contest and it is growing bigger each week.
So why should you choose to send me to Steemfest?

This is a great idea.
I have been blogging here on Steemit since last year, when I was turned on to the platform by a video created by @piedpiper.
I don't really want to "advertise" myself, but Steem has been a "dream come true" for me in that, as someone who has always written and created content, payout or not, I am finally paid for my ideas, which is what I am truly passionate about--ideas--and the efforts I make of my own self-interest to make the world a more voluntary place.
Right after I started Steem I had to leave my job,
and Steemit.com helped me to pay my bills for about a month and a half of unemployment. This was absolutely unreal to me, but real all the same, because I always felt that what I had to say had value to someone. First and foremost to me, as without expression I do not know how I could survive and thrive, and secondly to the neat folks who have resonated with what I say over the years and supported this self-expression.

It is my hope, dream, and now practical goal to turn "Steeming" into a lifestyle, and going to this event in Lisbon would mean the world to me.

I rarely win stuff, i have gone through life competing and always ending up second or third or not anywhere onbthe top list. I really never knew what made others special and not me because i worked twice as hard as everyone else. I have written on two occasions how i wish i could represent my country on steemfest this year and I've seen several All paid trip competitions but because of my failure when it comes to luck i never tried.

I'm a YouTuber living in Poland, so not too far away from good ol' Lisbon! I've been here on Steemit since I first got introduced to it, about 2 months back. Ever since then I've posted a few videos about it, happily gained over 400 followers and am earning quite well due to the fluctuations of Steem on Poloniex and just through curating/creating content.
I've been looking for ways to further my online reach and this was a perfect platform to work with. I'm currently working to create a new YT channel for Steemit, or at least host a plethora of videos on my current channel with 16K and just do a daily/weekly show here. The videos would be most likely only for Steemit (unlisted if on AVILSD) so I hope that would help with marketing.
I'd love to go to Steemfest, I think it'd be a wonderful opportunity to connect with people and maybe catch a few videos about it all. I see a bright future in Steemit and I'd love to help promote! The people I brought over from my channel were happy when the prices went up, and now after HF19 I'm sure they're promoting it themselves too to their family members and friends! Out of all the platforms I'm on, I've slowly been shifting more and more time here. As of next week, I'll be working most likely full-time to try and expand my audience here :) thank you for the opportunity, Steemit!

Its really funny. I actually hadnt thought of going to the steamfest until now. I know steemit is not in Africa especially in Ghana. I am one of the earliest adopters of this platform and have been trying my best to bring more people, more likely investors to this platform. I am a 28 year old sensible American who has never been west of Philadelphia or East of Puerto Rico. I have never left the US and always wondered what Europe and the world would be like to experience.
Over the past few months I have been engaged with this beautiful blockchain technology and the endless possibilities it presents our world. I would love a chance to meet contacts within the community, and I am also 50% Portuguese and would be able to visit family I have never met in the most authentic setting imaginable! Being on my own exploring new scenery, family, technology and connections.

I can imagine by now you have had to read through hundreds if not thousands of comments on this post asking for what we all really want! What we want is the amazing opportunity to visit all our newly discovered friends for the platform we call home Steemit. Here's why I'd like to go to steemfest II . . .
Steemfest I was amazing. I as in the first not I as in me . . . I mean I was pretty amazing too but we're here to talk about steemfest!
I had no idea it would be so amazing but I was so excited by this social media revolution that I wanted to meet the people behind the name tags. There was no disappointment. It exceeded my expectations immensely. It really showed just how much positive energy and motivation was pushing steem forward.
Forget about the money for a minute. Steemit has done so much for my life. I am learning new things and getting involved in an industry that could be 10 times as revolutionary as the internet. I have started building a brand with another steemian that I hope will become our source of living some day. I'm even relocating to pursue those dreams just 6 weeks before steemfest.
Because of this we're trying to fundraise with our low budget content to get to america and start a series of videos that will make cryptocurrency much easier to digest and much tastier to the not-so-nerdy. With all of this, we're still uncertain on what we can afford, but we're determined to get to steemfest II somehow. Maybe even to host an event ... that would be the dream ...

I joined Steemit January 7, 2017 and the excitement from SteemFest 1 was still in the air so much so that it made me long for the next event.
So I've basically been looking forward to this event since the time I joined Steemit. I so much believe it to be an amazing opportunity to put faces to the names I've been seeing around and also integrate better into the community.
I'm all for interaction and building a better/stronger community so any opportunity to do this will definitely excite me.
Thanks to Steemit, I've had so many "firsts" in my life this year and SteemFest would be yet another "first" for me in that it would be my first conference (i'm growing up so fast) and also my first time out of my darling country.
By the way, roelandp, surfermarly, demotruk and blueorgy amongst many others are looking forward to seeing me there. You know we wouldn't want to disappoint them 😉.
I intend on blogging about my experiences daily and make use of all the lessons learned to further grow the Nigerian community on Steemit.

What a cool idea! There's a 0% chance of me winning, but that won't stop me from trying 😂 I've been running and building my pool route business for 20 years. I haven't gotten more than a 4 day break. Pretty brutal. My Dad passed away 6 months ago from bladder cancer. Been pretty miserable...mamma needs a getaway! I feel like I've been on tilt for the last 3 years. So many pent up emotions, I'm about to snap. There's a million people who probably need this more than I do. I have a roof over my head, a solid infrastructure or friends and family, a stable job, and a dog who comes with me to work everyday. I would like to go to Lisbon, Portugal to start a Bilberry and Nut farm in the Oeste Subregion of Portugal.
Starting a small business is a challenge for foreigners according to: https://www.justlanded.com/english/Portugal/Portugal-Guide/Business/Self-employment. However, I believe this can be overcome by convincing others on Steemit and presenting the business application office for foreigners with a sound business plan. We could convince them with the possible lucrative exposure for Portugal on Steemit through the intensive farm. Portugal is a small country and would profit immensely by being showcased on Steemit through this farm and its interaction with the community both on Steemit and Portugal. An aeroponics system would not be difficult to implement in the Oeste which is both near the coast (has water) and already a hub for intensive agriculture. We could post the farm's day to day operations on Steemit with photos of the development, bios of new team members with tags to their own Steemit accounts, descriptions of operations, and finally, photos of the actual harvest itself. By attending the Steemfest, I would be able to meet with like minded Steemit users, present the idea to locals, and begin the application process for the farm with a well prepared full business plan along with an anticipated timeline.

I was just a regular kid who didn't fit in with the 'cool' guys. But that wasn't a problem when I was younger, It was when I got older. For me it was really difficult to find a job because I was really shy and not physically strong enough. I had few friends (and still have) that I have spent my free time with (and still spending). But yeah.. I needed money.. And my only source of money were my parents. But my parents couldn't give me it every time I needed money... Ok... enough of crying..
Why I'd like to go? Well my sisters husband who is really close to me that I can even call him my big brother (he is a big steemit user now @good-karma), showed me this site. I used it for my English improvement since it's not my native language. But one thing I noticed is.. That from learning and gaining experience for my English language I also started earning money. Which I didn't even expected. Well yeah it wasn't a lot. But it was something.. For me, a teen that never ever have earned something. In almost a year I learned a lot about steemit. I have started earning even more reward. But of course my growing follower base is more important than that since it really feels good to know that some people actually like what I do.
So now, when there is a chance for me to show my parents that I started 'making a living' I would really like to use this opportunity and make my parents proud. That their son has reached something.. (really weird to write this sentence). And if I get an opportunity I will take my parents to steemfest with me.

i would love to go, my partner would travel from the US to me in the UK and we would fly, drive, boat to portugal and make to the event, we would do it on a finely tuned shared and transparent budget, we would blog all the way, video, film and interview people at the event blogging hourly while at steemfest till about 6/7pm in the evening with an evening roundup post with audio being shared on soundcloud. please pick me. i watched you all last year in amsterdam and was GUTTED not to have be able to go! - don't leave me hanging at the end of the bridge (and yes, i would be making cinemagraphs there too!)

Ok so I'll be honest here on why I want to go to Steemfest 2, Lisborn.
I'm a 19 year old boy from Assam( Northeast), India. And being a teenager from a middle class family in the 21st century is kinda disheartening.
My dad is a state government public servant, a police, who have a salary of INR 35000($500) and have two loans on our burdens, which didn't gave me a chance to visit places with my family outside Assam. Leave places to visit outside Assam. I've never visited all the places in Assam and Northeast like all of my friends have visited and and every 29 states in India.. I've visited like 4 places only in Assam and that too because of Parkour. And one was through Steemit money. So being honest, I've never visited places to keep memories before I die or never did something that would make my parents proud. As that said, I've never done a travelling through flight as price of tickets are too much for a family like ours.
Being a teenager I too want branded clothes, gaming laptops and a desired bike just like all of my friends/classmates own. But I can't get them for our financial crisis and I don't even want to force my parents for getting any of these. And that is the reason why I'm on Steemit. I want to help myself buy branded clothes, visit places with my parents but I know I can't buy my desired bike from my Steemit wallet as my posts are not that good and have less followers. Or I'm even thinking to deposit my money in banks for my future use or to help pay the loans that my dad is still paying from last 8 years instead of buying a bike or wasting it in clothes, foods or stuffs like that.
And if I win a free trip to Lisborn, half of my dreams would come TRUE and my parents would be proud of me. Cause I've never made them feel proud to give birth to me. Ever! And visiting Lisborn for Steemfest 2 would make 3 of my dreams come true:-

In all honesty I would like to attend to learn more about steemit in general. Knowledge is often brushed aside - and an educated community is a thriving community. It obvious that it is good time for steemit to scale. I am form Sudan (Africa) and my native language is Arabic so i think i can help introducing steemit to Arab speaker and some African countries so I think steemfest will help me do so.
On the other hand more than 7 month on steemit make me know great people that i wish to meet somehow someday, maybe in steemfest as most of them want to go.

To Steemit community:
Wow!, just the opportunity to shoot my photography in that land alone would be a blessing. To be able to document the event in photos and videos, to be able to capture the people. the community, the culture, the experience would be magical. I always wanted to visit Portugal and Lisbon. But someting kept me away from it, might be the money, time or the distance.
When I joined Steemit and realized how perspective, friendly and revolutionary are people and the community itself, I immediately fell in love with it. I started telling everyone but a few online friends only signed up and are wating their approval.
Why SteemFest? Since my childhood I was always interested in revolutionary stuff, when I grew up I developed an interest in music and all kinds of festivals.
SteemFest2 visit would be a combination of realizing my childhood interest and binding with people who share the same vision of how the internet and the community should and will become! A place of liberty, valuation of people's toughts and content, where each voice has an echo.

Hey guys, I know there's a very, very, very slim chance that you guys pick little old me. But I say that a very slim chance is still better than no chance, so if you guys are willing to hear me out and at the cost of a little bit of exposition, why not give it a go.
First off my name is Ryan, nice to meet you. You can check out my introduction post here if you'd like to put a face to my text wall. I'm a biology undergraduate from canada and run this, my main blog along with curating Science-trail and recently creating the new Esteem Network Initiative, which I hope to see grow in the future for the community. I am a long time lurker of Steemit (made in august '16 baby!!), but have been posting actively since march or april.
Second off, the sob story , I don't come from much. I'm from a below average single parent household and only in the last year have escaped to a small apartment in my university town after my mother sold our house. I can't say that I've had it the worst anyone ever has, or the least anyone ever has, but my 20 years has been rough and I feel my circumstances have weathered me long beyond what I may been without them. School's expensive, my parents cant help much, and I likely won't be able to make this trip, let alone any trip without help.
I think Steemit is an amazing community, it's obvious to any of us invested that the potential and general community engagement is greater than many other platforms. I also think that from what I've observed, the most succesful users are relatively older than the average student blogger. Which can be expected due to more complex intricacies of the blockchain, but also because of some of the investment prices which can be associated with success in some cases. This means that I am also one of the younger users here on steem and I believe that my long term investment in the platform from another demographics point of view is essential in moving Steemit into the limelight. I mean this is not the strongest point, but having thousands of adults at Steemfest doesn't send a message that resonates with young minnows who don't have the career funds to support their blogs. I feel that I have the dedication and mindset for success, I just need those of you who can help to recognize someone who is willing to be an invested member of the community. Which comes to the meat of my entry.
I love the world, I love culture, I love travel, but I've never had the money. I also love learning, I love educating, and I most of all love sharing. I have, for as long as I can remember, wanted to be professional in some type of science. Whether it was paleontology, to astronomy, to polymer chemistry to my current love of genetics, I've always had the lust for a profession in knowledge and sharing, and I think this can be powerful thing when you are surrounded by others who share that interest. Since I realized this I have put all of my effort into my "craft", I learn as much as I can, try my hardest and can say I am well on my way to that goal. As I work through my undergrad however, I find myself running low on funds, which leads to a part-time, which leads to lost time, which leads to lower marks. Because of this I have decided to take some time off school in order to work at both my real job (roofing and best buy) and go full time steemit. The unfortunate truth is, even with my jobs I still can only save up a small amount each month and making an as expensive a trip as Portugal for me would void a huge amount of my savings for returning to school.
Thank you judges, if you took the time to read this and honestly consider me among yourselves as an option I appreciate it. I've never had the opportunity to enter a contest like this before, and often do not participate in any giveaways on Steemit because I simply think there's such a slim chance my comment is the best. But this time I can only dream will be different, Steemit has already showed me that amazing things are possible and I am willing to suspend my disbelief for a few days if it may get me to Steemfest II with the rest of the community. i don't know how this HardFork 19 works and what it is as i'm new to steemit( i need to do some research about it now) but it is good to spread happiness to all the community members and encourage us new authors to publish more content and to explore different corners of this community. I think it is one honest attempt to push the minnows to participate in this.

For the past few decades mankind is advancing towards the unknown realms of science and technology. This advancement is to make life easy and to increase comfort at home and at work. I would like to be an integral part of such betterment. For this, International Workshops and Seminar would be of prime importance with hands on experience in real time. My ambition is to work at the forefront of the information technology with the ability to find innovative solutions to the changing needs. This Steem Fest II is what I believe to be the favorable solution might be.
In order to move ahead to achieve my ambition, I have planned to attend attend SteemFest II Lisbon. I believe it to be a great chance to learn ideas and intimate crypto currency pioneers. So I chose to attend SteemFest II.
I am LP Aryal from Kathmandu, Nepal. Born and raised in rural and hilly part of my country and pursuing a successful career here in Capital, Kathmandu, Nepal. I love travelling,reading and writing.
I am a Fintech lover and working for a Digital Payment Solution provider Company in Nepal . As I have been working as a IT/Fintech professional my ambition towards Digital Money, Crypto Currencies ,e-commerce, e-governance, automation of payment ( online payment) became an aim to achieve for identity. I, thence, chose Steemit.
I believe your Steem Fest II will provide me a dynamic atmosphere, to shape me as a better thinker and a learner. The diversity of the participants will open my mind to new influences, new ideas and new ways of doing things. The world is literally becoming a global village where opportunities for work are transcending physical space. With the Cyberspace connections, Nepalese professionals at the pursuit of knowledge are increasingly contributing to the global work force. Steem Fest II will give me the training and the caliber to meet the global challengers. I look forward to being active Participants of this Program. But I am not at stage that I can pay for all things so I wrote this story here!

I would be so grateful for an opportunity to attend steemfest. All my life I have been embarrassed at people asking me what I want to do in life. Not knowing the answer can really lower your self e'steem'. haha. I will use this platform to help people become successful. I will use it to motivate people and uplift them. Attending this journey will aid me in my path to giving this site awareness and continuing to help enlighten people. It would be amazing to get to meet individuals who are involved in the same things as me.

But, To answer a question, why would you want to attend this Steemfest II?
With my first background, I have not understood once about steemfest, I want to know what is steemfest by attending a seminar or a percentage of steemfest.
Secondary backgrounds, the people here are less mature about crypto and blockchain, so to give them a glow about the crypto world and blockchain we first know what cryptocurrency is.
And the purpose of attending this steemfest is to raise awareness of the common people about the world of blockchain in order to know how important blockchain and cryptocurrency is in this last era. Now people here are only 5% who know about the world of blockchain. Those who think the internet world is hard to believe. To convince a layman in this business world, they need real, eye-catching facts, such as an office, or other documentary evidence, that can change their minds that investing in this virtual world is not a hoax.

i would like to go to Lisbon because i actually never had left my country( Venezuela) since is nearly impossible for a normal person to get enough money to pay a trip(likely 3 and a half years of work and saving without spending . Also would like to meet and explore new places and share with new people since i barely can leave my house because the political situation in the country.

Well, I just did my first intro post today and celebrated my first week with growing number of followers ( aprox200)
My name is Kenneth ...from a small town in west africa. I am into community development and with target on rural women and children exposing them on dangers of contagious diseases and natural remedies through nature.
I do not earn much as such, I cannot afford this life changing trip if not through steem. I have not traveled out of the country and it has been my wish to explore the diaspora anytime soon . I joined steemit with a zeal and resolve to make it to the tops through perseverance, hardwork, patience and great contents. As such, since i joined, i have dedicated most of my time daily reading and commenting and building trusted followers.
Steemfest11 for me is not for fun or sightseeing...but an avenue to show all cynics and doubting thomases i have been trying to recruit from my community that Steem is real. Having been battered by ponzy schemes and revshare, many around me has stopped dreaming unlike me. So Steemfest11 will be for me a game changer as I shall expose Steem in a positive light building consensus amongst the many unemployed youths in my locality and beyond. I shall use my skills as a contents expert to gather enough materials to expose Steem to the remotest of my communities as we have vibrant youths who needs such exposure but has little or no faith in online outfits.
Finally, if granted this rare opportunity, I shall be everyly grateful to the ideals of steem and a positive ambassador for Steem. This is the raison d'etre of my resolve to try my luck in this contest.

Who- in their right mind- would want to pass up a chance-in-a-life-time!! Not me! At first, I want to say thank you to all great people that make Steemfest II possible. Since about a month I'm a member of Steem and many people don't know me. If I get selected I want to join the Steem Hackathon. I'm really curious how Steemfest is organized and if there are any keynotes or topics to talk. Yes I know, probably the main topic of people will be Steem itself and programmers will promote their projects. Please do not understand me false. I'm really happy that Steem and Steemians are helping programmers to finance their projects. In the next weeks I also will work on one or two projects for the Steem community. So it would be a pleasure if you could help me.

I am trying to setup a witness node and understanding the technology behind steemit . Would love to experiment with few project ideas like user curated news feeds. A video based feed channel categorized by topics.. would love to mingle with the folks and may be get together to develop something based on steem block chain

So... Why do I want to go? Well... I consider myself an avid traveler, having spent well over 3 years of my life on the road. Lots of backpacking, traveling on a budget to be able to do it for longer. But, I have never been to Europe. And I always wanted to!
What could I offer to the meeting? mmm when I was six years old my whole family moved to Brazil for work and I did my first year of school there. So my first alphabetization was to portuguese. After we came back home (Uruguay) I kept reading magazines in portuguese, listening to music, watching movies, all in that language. That ended up being a great idea since nowadays I can speak and read portuguese really well. I think that could come up handy when in Lisbon. I also speak spanish of course (mother tongue) and my english is pretty decent as you can read, since I lived in New Zealand for around 4 years.
So, to be honest I am pretty new here with just over a week in this community, therefore I think some users with more time here will have more chances and it would make more sense for them to be chosen. Still.. nothing to lose trying , right?

Honestly I can't say I've heard of Lisbon, Portugal before. This picture that you guys are displaying on this post, it shows how Tropical the Foreign Country seems to be. Honestly, I would love to go to Portugal see the place and enjoy it. But I would also mostly like to connect more with other steamers in person and get a feel for the community that I too support. To be a part of something online and then have it become interaction with the people who help build this whole community would be a amazing overwhelming feeling. Am @naseerbhat from india and i am about to complete my graduation in dental science that means am going to be a dentist by profession in next 2-3 months and in completing this degree my parents paid me off for all the dues and living tillnow .
Now they are old aged and are seeing forward to me being an earner to the family and be their support for the rest of life .but the country am pertaining does'nt fetch any good living to get settled so i was seeing forward to attend the steemit conference to learn every thing about this crypto currency , bitcoin and steemit as i am looking forward to continue using steemit to earn for my living .
