The Road To SteemFest | What is "The Actual Road" to Bangkok! Post Roundup (Part 1)

in steemfest •  5 years ago

Just a few more weeks to go!! The 4th edition of SteemFest is happening next month, and the excitement and anticipation surrounding the annual event is only growing on our blockchain.

Several steemians are locking in their travel plans, making all the necessary arrangements and getting ready to travel to the vibrant and enchanting city of Bangkok in the month of November. Steemians from across the globe will meetup at SteemFest to share a memorable few days that'll be loaded with fun, laughter, learning and lots of bonding. In the buildup to the main event, @anomadsoul's #roadtosteemfest contest allows those who're planning to attend the event to get to know their fellow attendees even before they set foot at their destination.

Are they going to reach their destination by air or road? Have they got all their expenses sorted out? Is this going to be their first ever steemfest? Find out all this and more as steemians share their thoughts, views and feelings on a weekly #roadtosteemfest topic.

The current topic is "The actual road", where @anomadsoul wants you to tell him:

Do you have it all planned already? Is every detail of your trip taken care of?
Perhaps you are flying from the other side of the world and you have to take 17 flights to make it to Bangkok; or maybe you live close to Thailand but you need to drive for hours to get to the nearest airport so you can take a short boat trip to the Thai shores; who knows, I bet some people will have to do some island hoping to make it on time to the opening cocktails.
Whatever you have to do to get to Thailand, share it with us!

Showcased below are 10 posts from steemians sharing about their path that'll get them to Thailand!!

@joythewanderer will be coming to Bangkok all the way from Belgium, and while her flight tickets are booked she's still looking around for accommodation.

Have you booked your flight/train/boat to Bangkok yet? I've done mine, I'll be flying on 3rd of Nov from Belgium, with Aeroflot, with an overstop in Moscow. Anyone shares the same flight, the first leg from Brussels to Moscow or the second leg from Moscow to Bangkok?

@karinxxl's trip is totally unorganized and she's counting on some last-minute planning, but that's totally fine as she knows all will work out fine in the end.

So when you ask me about the actual road? The only right answer is that nothing has been defined as yet, but I am sure it will turn out entirely fine...Because it always does! See ya there!

@bugavi is doing a lot of calculations and number-crunching to get the details of her trip just right, including analyzing the transport, transfer & accommodation options .

On the skyskanner I found an option. Ukraine International offers us a flight 12 h 20 min. with one transfer to Kiev Borispol. So with that we figured out further we arrive at Subarnabhum Airport in Thailand and from there we need a transfer to our accommodation.

@louis88 starts his trip from Germany and gives us a detailed travel plan of his journey, and he will also be making a stop at Malaysia before finally arriving at his destination.

I'm already totally excited... But there are still some things missing that I have to do in the next few days. I have to go to the doctor again, get a little vaccination. I have to ask a friend about his big suitcase. 30kg luggage I have free :-)

Bangkok is just a 4 hour flight away for @wanderein and she's already booked her trip, and she gives us details of how she'll actually be travelling from the place where she lives.

This means that before I get to my Bangkok flight, I will take the reverse - hike for 2 hours to the main Batad road, take a jeepney or tricycle to Banaue and get to an overnight bus to Manila.

@cryptospa has got his steemfest tickets and accommodation taken care of, he's just planning to arrange for the flight now.

The only detail of my trip to Bangkok that I still haven't taken care of is the plane ticket ... The cheapest tickets from Sofia to Bangkok are with Emirates (airline) (with a stop in Dubai)and Qatar Airways (with a stop in Qatar) at a price of 450 EUR - 460 EUR

Although @davidke20 would love to attend Steemfest, there are a few obstacles that he needs to overcome in order to reach his goal, and he highlights them in this post related to the current #roadtosteemfest topic.

I will have to wait until last minute before I decided to book my flight. Once again, I need the #ticket to see myself fly to Bangkok.

@kaerpediem is pretty excited about attending Steemfest, and there was a little hiccup initially with respect to her daughter's exams and birthday falling during the event period, but it's all sorted out now and she's looking forward to be in Bangkok with some of the TeamMalaysia members.

The venue, Bangkok was doable. It was close enough, currency exchange wasn't going to kill me, a 2 hour flight on a budget airline and sharing accommodation were all manageable. The dates however....

@surpassinggoogle is one of the speakers at Steemfest 4, and in a detailed vlog he explains how he intends to make it to the event and what things he needs to plan.

In the video, i covered everything related to 'my preparation' for attending Steemfest-4 in Thailand and how much preparation i have done so far.

@elizacheng has already got her SteemFest tickets and accommodation taken care of, the flight ticket is still pending. Although things aren't as properly planned as her Steemfest trip last year, she explains in the vlog that she's all set to attend.

Air ticket - OK, Gonna get this ASAP. I know I have been planning to buy my air ticket like for ages ago... 🤣😅 Need this FAST. Coz without the air ticket, I won't be getting there, right?

So while some have gotten their travel, accommodation and ticket details taken care of, others are in the process of finalizing the pending items. All the steemians are really excited to attend and enjoy the SteemFest events that are lined up for them in Bangkok, and make a lot of new steem friends.

This concludes this roundup of "The Road to Steem Fest | The actual road" posts. Do follow @anomadsoul for more to come from #roadtosteemfest.
