Hey Steemians!

Yes! I am going to Lisbon during Steemfest! As detailed in my previous post (Hashtag plug #Steemfest-minnow), I will be flying to Lisbon and stay there from the 28th October 9th November 2017, effectively staying throughout Steemfest2, Creamy and Delicious. Everything is prepared and booked on my side except one thing.

As of now, I am still lacking a Steemfest ticket. I wanted to make triply sure that i can make the trip and stay in Lisbon before committing to getting a ticket. I wanted it to be the last thing I do before feeling the sense of completion and being truly excited without worry to attend what i confidently know wold be a life changing event for me and many others.

Over the 3 months since the announcement of Steemfest2, I've saved up enough Steem and fiat money to finally get everything in order to make Steemfest possible for me. And its now down to one final thing before i can get to meet the the awesome people attending the 5 day fest in Lisboa!
With only less than 1 week left on the calendar, I hope you all have at least gotten your itinerary ready, and get your adrenaline in check too! Because if you're anything like me, you'll be too excited and nervous to keep your hands steady too!

With so many people who have been instrumental to the growth of Steemit but is unable to fully afford the ticket themselves yet - making them much more qualified to deserve free tickets. I don't expect to win a ticket myself unless a miracle happens. Which is why I have powered down my Steemit account since 7 weeks ago and for another 2 weeks. This power down is solely to afford tickets to Lisbon as well as the Steemfest tickets themselves.

I know its unsightly to see me let go of so much Steem Power. It pains myself too but its a sacrifice I'm willing to make to experience the priceless experience that is Steemfest.

And after a very inspiring comment by the ever amazing @surfermarly, I'm taking a shot, this post will be in participation of @ballinconscious's Ticket giveaway competition.

I hereby nominate myself for a chance at getting a ticket to Steemfest. In the off chance i do get a sponsorship, the Steem i have in my wallet will be used to sponsor a close personal friend of mine who is studying in Germany now. @vaelriey.

Why will Steemfest2 be Better Because I am there?

1. As my name suggest, I am Awesome!

Don't believe me? Then you have to meet me in person to prove me wrong. I have a few awesome powers which I feel I can brag about.

I can smile all day, everyday. As a person who's worked as a waiter throughout my childhood, and then as a petrol pump attendant (aka. smilly-smiles guy), and then as a customer service rep, I KNOW hospitality.

I will volunteer myself without a second's hesitation to be the part of the @firepower crew (if you guys want me in). I can greet, run around as backstage monkey, anything really.. menial tasks is my middle name (hmm, that sounds way more epic in my mind).

2. I will be silly (and bring smiles to people)

Apart from saying yes to calls for help, I am equally willing to answer to calls to silliness. Want me to do the dance in front of Marques de Pombel? YEAPSOLUTELY! I don't hold people back from doing silly (but safe) stuff.

There's no such word as "embarrassment" in my vocabulary. I'm a fun guy to have around, that is a guarantee. in fact, I'll give all a challenge, when you see me there in Steemfest, ask me to something silly (nothing dangerous or indecent please).

When you see me, grab a camera and say "Hey @Awesomianist, BananaPotatoes!" and I'll have to do anything silly you ask of me..

3. I will bring the face of Malaysia

As a Malaysian-born and Malaysian bred Chinese descent from the jungles of Borneo. I'll answer all your questions about my homeland. I can even do the famous Ngajat dance (though that requires beer, all ngajat requires beer).

Many of you would most certainly be interested in Borneo, it's lush jungles, the caves, the sandy beaches and the coconut trees. You know what, I live there.. I'll tell you all about it if you ask me the right question. And then again, I can do the Ngajat dance if I'm drunk enough.

On another note, I will be bringing some gifts from Malaysia to all the awesome attendants of Steemfest. im calling now the collective wisdom of #teammalaysia, What's the one trinket i can bring and distribute that perfectly sums up "Malaysia" to the awesome people at Steemfest2?

Maybe a "manik" or some small trinkets eh?

4. I can represent Teammalaysia

We're a small team started almost 4 months ago with the sole objective to speed up the organic growth of Steemit among the people of Malaysia. There is no doubt there is a huge huge pool of Malaysian talents and creatives that are disenfranchised, neglected, and eld back from truly unleashing their potential.

So far we have at least 2 marketing maestro, 4 travel bloggers, 1 lawyer, 3 visual artist, 2 musicians, 1 award winning travel documentary host, and a handful of people that will truly benefit from a platform like Steemit -- among many of the now 300 strong members who are actively contributing to Steemit as new minnows.

The nation of Malaysia suffers from the lack of opportunity to develop one's own alternative talent.

We simply aren't allowed the infrastructure to do so. The emergence of Cryptocurrency and especially The Steem Blockchain completely changed this landscape. With such an incentive model to keep producing better quality content that is original, everyone is rewarded to improve themselves.

Everyone is required to develop their passion. That is what TeamMalaysia is about, to Empower the Untapped Malaysian Creatives Potential .

Together with @bitrocker2020 in Lisboa, We will be the face of Teammalaysia to meet, talk, share ideas, cooperate with anyone who is interested with the initiative.

5. I will be another set of eyes and ears for the Steemians who can't make it to Lisbon but wants to participate the event online.

I know how it feels to not be part of the "in".. Time constraints, Financial limits, Unexpected circumstances, they are all perfectly valid reason to be unable to arrive for Steemfest, ("I dont wanna go" is not a reason, if so, please check out @quinneaker's 13 reason to go to Steemfest)

Being a person who missed Steemfest1 myself, I know the joy of reading and watching all the exclusive on-site "reports" and personal recounts of the event, every post and video is scoured and enjoyed to recreate the feeling of as though Im there myself.

I know many of you would want to get as many pictures, videos, stories, anything at all right? well, I'm making it a mission to "spam" as much as i can during the 5 days there. In fact, I'll be there from the 28th October to the 9th November.
Upon the completion of each day's conference, as long as i am not blackout drunk or cant make it back to my Airbnb, i will give a quick rundown of what happened. Pictures, lots of pictures. And maybe a lousy video or two.

On another completely different note. I've volunteered before and I'll volunteer again. If you ever need someone to get hypnotized by you on stage as part of your demonstration during your talk in steemfest, let me be the first. Steemfest is all about new experiences and being hypnotized certainly will be a new experience for me.
