@steemfestuk is coming to Birmingham for the 7th of April, get your ticket soon ;)

Yes this is me racing towards Birmingham in a few weeks time for the @steemcampuk meet up to Lloyd and whoever else turns up, can you imagine a future where we have super hyper connected transports that zoom us around the planet meeting people for breakfast, lunch and tea?

you might want to head over here ASAP (like now) to book on eventbrite — or read the initial blogpost — https://steemit.com/steemcamp/@lloyddavis/steemcampuk-an-invitation to grab yourself a ticket, i sent over 10 steem to pay for our tickets, I’m not sure that was enough, will give Lloyd more money on the day thou to help cover some costs.

Hosted by @lloyddavis I expect that he will have picked a lovely venue and that the flow of the day will go in the usual style, he’s an old pro at running events and holding conversations what with the Tuttle club and he kinda knows what he’s doing, if your in the uk in a few weeks time you should certainly try and make it, it’s always good to connect a face.

The venue (https://birmingham.impacthub.net) looks like a super nice place to work from as well, I’ll probably be bringing along some podcasting gear and setup the software on the laptop.

I realise the price of steem and sbd is quite low at the moment but anything you can contribute towards a ticket, £10 each is super reasonable I think is the price of the ticket on eventbrite but it would be great if we can have enough people in attendance so we cover at least the venue, right?

Ok so don’t expect coaches, lots of venues, masses of food, lots of speaker sessions like steemfest 2 but do expect a gathering of a bunch of uk steemians together to discuss and roundtable and to generally have a jolly good chat about all things crypto and beyond.

If you want to help promote the event (and are based in the uk) you can use this banner below and link through to the eventbrite page and I’ve put a bunch of potentially useful links underneath as text links too! :

If there is one thing that I think is apparent about any gather where people get together around a shared resource is that people have a passion for it — Portugal was a perfect example of that and I was thankful that we made it happen together with @dayleeo (although I still am paying that back!) it adds another dimension to a persons blog when you meet then face to face and pick up on all the nuances of them again.

btw I used https://steemauto.com to add @steemcampuk to my auto voter, that way every time they post (20 minutes) they will get a 25% upvote from me, I wish it was more right now but hey that’s life! :)

where they are at in their personal journey in life, are they feeling fit & healthy, what they have to say since you last met, what they have learned since you last saw them —- you can’t beat that and I’d say get it in now before the AI of the world takes over and our everyday battle becomes sifting the white noise! :)

I’m trying my best to go to steemfestuk simply as a node. As a node in the network — sure I’ve got a bunch of things I’d like to discuss, mock up and build, audio interviews I’d like to do with other steemians, cover it like a social media gig back in the day where i’d turn up as a brand advocate and capture ‘all the things’ but I kinda wanna be more casual about that.

However, if the situation arises. ..

. ..I’d like to discuss things like basic income, solar powered mesh networks, crowd sharing of real world assets, electric transportation and van-dwelling with a healthy side of boondocking steem assisted living across the uk and europe. I’d like to make a real world node of people who will come together and share the pot of spoils each has in times of need.

of course I’d like to tell you about my three little projects for steem - past, present and future (they all have names too but don’t want to release that under I have graphics and mvp mockups done) but I’ll probably discuss what holds me back rather than why they don’t exist yet — although a recent boilerplate for steem it making me seriously consider taking a JS course.

No for me, going to these things is about the face to face, the hugs, the smiles, the cup of tea and coffee and just watching us articulate today — no middlemen, no upsell.

I’m not interested in going just to increase my follower count and I’m certainly not interested in just promoting one section of the community so it alone can get bigger — I make things for all people to use and hopefully allow you to feel confident to use these new amazing crypto tools.

Oooh, I do want to talk about @dlive and @dtube and I’d love to sit around and talk about what tools you think we need for you to feel confident to use these new platforms — being on the steem blockchain for a year or so I guess I’ve got a bunch of information I’ve learned over that time (It just turned two btw, happy birthday steemit)
