in steemgigs •  6 years ago

Nevertheless, I keep trying to make sure i make post everyday because I hate spending a day with posting here on steemit. Moreover steemit has turned mylife all around alot.

Today i will sharing with you some secrets of becoming successful on steemit.

source

I know @surpassinggoogle and his team runs @steemsecret project to which I learn't from everyday. I won't be sharing anything new but it feel it will as serve as a reminder to those who have lost the steam for steem.

I will be sharing some things Ilearnt from @destinysaid, @gbenga and @surpassinggoogle. I have been opportuned to meet with these great minds. Incase you don't know them, let me talk about them and at the same time share with you what i learnt from them.

@DESTINYSAID

Source of pics is from my whatsapp pics

@destinysaid is a Nigerian who lives in Delta State Sapele. He is a music producer, who loves writing about music and cryptocurrency. He is an invests on cryptocurrency and thesame time finds other ways builds a better music industry in Nigeria using the blockchain platfrom. He is a Nigerian curator and he also runs the @africanunchained, @debrecords and also a prestige member of the @genesisproject. (these are the little i can share about him).

Since my meeting with him, I have learn't so many things from him one of which is Community Participating

Community Participation

In as much steemit is a site built on a blockchain platform and no doubt we have alot of investors, its also a socialable site where need people. If any one will become known on steemit blockchain on time, he has to participate in a community. There are tonnes of community here on steemit.

If you ask most of the minnows who later became whales or are dolphins, they will tell you the importance of community building. Join a community. Be socialable to everyone. Make yourself loveable and open to all. Most persons keeps complaining they spend so much time creating a post but still they don't get upvotes. Yes that's true. In as much you make a quality post which is very much ok by me community building ehances your post. It gives you a voice.

The question is who do you expect to check your blog? A newbie who doesn't know anything about the platfrom? If i have any free time and i will love to check out someones blog, it will be that of a person that i know. Not someone out there who I don't know anything about.

Your participation in a community is what makes you known. This was what i learnt from @destinysauid the first we met before the campus invasion we held at Delta State Polytechnic Otefe-Oghara.

So the question is what do we do when we talk about community participation?

  • Good commuications on different chat rooms and discord channels: You know so persons can be really snubbish when you DM them but in chat rooms, its a nice place to be free and express yourself. Always try ti=o be free and participate in things that you are asked to do. If you are asked to go follow your community account, then do it. This is because whatsoevr is done in a community is always there to benefit you.

If you are asked not to paste links in the general room then don't do that. Rules are simple to keep so endevor to work with the community leaders to help you all become more successful. When you are active and always at the fore front, so enough you while be noticed by those who matters and eventually get rewarded. But please don't do these because of the reward. Instead do this because its right.

  • Commenting On Post: commenting meaning comments and contributions is another way becoming known in the steemit platform. You may not be too enlightened on the subject matter but you could also ask reasonable questions. This is a key to become know and recognized by people. There was someone i went to his blog to upvote his post just because his activities on my blog was so obvious. What's my point? You can get noticed by engaging on people's blog
  • Participating in community shows: There are so many weekly shows that ain't contest but help you see the fun part on steemit. You could decide to join such shows and participate. It doesn't matter wheather you get upvoted or not but you keep on creating an awareness to those persons that participate regularly.

Some shows i know of include

Sunday Personality Show with @Jackdog
TGIF (Thank God It's Friday With @Jeanipearl
Fun Time With @Gee1 which include #mancrushmonday, #womancrushwednesday, #throwbackthursday, and Hotseat
Saturday Night With @Zizymen
Let's talk about Relationship with @oluwatobiloba

  These shows are really exciting i must confess. Be at the fore front ensuring

  • Attend Discord Channels Meeting: My last meeting with @surpassinggoogle was really amazing. I didn't have a phone but i had to device a means to join the meeting. What's the point? do everything possible to participate. Discord is channel where you meet so many persons both within the country and outside the country. For instaance, I met @chinito from the @steemgigs discord channel and since then i started visiting his blog. He is a phillipine i guess and i am a Nigerian but we were brought together brought the meeting with @surpassinggoogle on discord. So do well to attend discord meet ups.

@Gbenga

I will keep on saying that @gbenga is one of the most generous and humble person I had ever seen. I won't say much about that but i know he knows what i mean. Always open to help. He is a Nigerian Curator. He was one of the persons who started out promotion of steemit in Nigeria. He runs the naijaboost project with @ceepee and @ejemai which he uses to upvote Nigerian daily. He often write about cryptocurrency and also has lots of investment on cryptocurrency. He looks small by stature but indeed he is a brain and someone you can associate with. You can visit his blog and get a view of what am saying.

Let me quote something @gbenga said that has gone a long way to change me steemit journey for good. He said

For you to be successful, it takes hardwork. Hard back breaking Hardwork

Yes, it sound so funny but that's the truth. So many people take steemit as every other social media where you make any post and get hundreds of like for a platter of gold. No! I say No! Steemit is much more than that. I disagree with anyone who ,makes you feel steemit is such a place.

Do you know upvotes are money? Do you know when you get upvoted the person upvotin you is giving you money? Steemit gives reward for quality contents. So upvotes are like earnings to you. In case you don't know, there are people who live solely on their steemit earnings. It's as serious as that. So don't get mad when you don't get upvoted by a whale. Their upvotes is money so ypou need to work and earn it.

Like @gbenga said during the steemit campus invasion, he said

Don't just make a post and just sleep there expecting upvotes to come. Go out there are comment on people's blog .

Put your name out there.

For instance, I am still a student in delta state polytechnic oghara. Since this semester, I haven't called my parents for money except from my feeding allowance they send to me monthly. Trust me if you are a student, you will know it's never enough. In addition I haven't been sent money to buy books (which is very compulsory in my school) but i have started buying my books.

Before i started my HND programme, I had the choice to work im school as a cyber cafe worker or depend on steemit. I choose steemit and i never regreted it because i earn passively.

So to me I Don't See Steemit as just any site, I see it as a Job. Yes! Steemit is my job.

You may wonder but it's the truth. When my dad sends me money to get books, I will invest it in other stuffs i do.

So your approach to steemit goes a long way to affect your success on steemit.

@Surpassinggoogle

Terry is a super amazing guy i always which to see face to face one day and i believe that which will come through. Yeah! I will travel to the philliphines to meet him. Lol... He is Terry Ajayi and he is the founder and the one behind the following projects: @teardrops, @steemgigs ( both as a witness and steemgigs site) and also @steemsecrets. There maybe more like the untalented contest and others i may not know of. I must confess he is loved by practically all newbies because he has his unique ways of charming us all with his good works. I will say he writes more about life ( my own opinion which is subject to change). He is a lover of people and i must say I love him. Muaahh!!!

Here is what I Learnt from @surpassinggoogle which i feel is a way to becoming successful on steemit. He said:

On steemit feel Yourself. If you really love your school work bring it to steemit.

This is one of the key to become successful one steemit. Its Simple

BE YOURSELF

Why trying to create a blog that doesn't bring out your personality. What you love and what you enjoy doing. I hurt me to see steemians who try to make up post just to impress people. No don't do that. Steemit doesn't work that way. You may be successful with it ( i mean you may earn) but you won't feel fulfilled.

If you observe this write i didn't try to make it so professional as @jerrybanfield will do or @teamsteem will do. Am not trying to say to be professional is wrong but this is my writing style. I love writing to people as though they are learnong from me in a class which I always like cryig them along. It's my style and I love feeling myself. Don't try to impress someone because of upvote.

Never ever go to a whale and beg for upvotes. It's totally wrong to me. You may seek for support politely whenever you have a huge project to do but giving them a link to beg for upvote is totally out of the line.

Keep doing what you love doing and you will become curated.

Well I started out this post this morning by 7pm before going to class and it's 3:04pm now. It has been a very stressful time trying to put this up.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to my steemit journey

Muuaaahhhh!!! I love you.

 Have a wonderful time
