If you can replace that washer, that should fix the problem. After a while, those rubber gaskets get hard and will no longer seal and then you tighten it down and it breaks the rubber seal down. If it is not a replaceable washer go get some gasket material and use just a little gasket maker on both sides, one side to help hold the gasket material in place, of the material and it should seal up just fine.

Sometimes the rubber washers get hard as they may sit for a while dry. When you go get just the replacement washer see if you can check and make sure it is pliable. If it says to only tighten hand tight and you use channel locks to tighten it, the washer is toast really at that point.

Well I may be "THE @mobile-joat" but to properly access the situation from a few pictures can be difficult... Here's a suggestion that may do the trick... Sometimes fittings are not molded or formed close enough to have a tight fit. So to compensate for these issues I'll sometimes use (2) washer/gaskets in the end of the line. However, either way you're going to have to use a pair of channel locks or pliers to get it tight. Also consider when you are finished working on it you may have water leaking around the pump inside the machine I've seen it happen many times thinking it was a line and ended up being a bit more of a problem than expected. Yo! Sorry for off-topic but I saw your post from few months ago were you say that steemit needs more meaningfull curators + that you have delegated some to some small deals.
As you can propably bet from my name, I am a gamer. I came here december and have gotten pretty pissed-off to lack of community. What I figured out yesterday is that I start upvoting only comments from gaming section of D.tube. With this I hope to eventually grow curators with meaningfull upvotes, which in turn helps building a real community.
Even very small delegation could help a bit, if you will. Thanks in advance.
Ps. I test delegated 1000 sp to one guy, who then went to upvote gaming content because of motivation. Just said so it doesn't look too shady.

Thanx for response! I don't personally see too many communities forming as most of them seem to be just some "use tag, may get upvote resteem". I would rather see those as some groups, rather than communities as they seem to be very isolated from one another and there is no bleed out to other content from them. I see the problem being that most of these groups are to support creators only, and people are giving up their curation because they feel demotivated to do it them selfs.

Wipe it down before putting it back together in case theres any particulate hanging the seal up.
I'd put some ky on the washer Vaseline may work but may dry rot the seal.
The thread tape idea may help, but is really only a stop gap you want that grommet to seal that's where the ky comes in if you over torque it it may bind the gasket up and pinch it.
Also as you're tightening it jostle it a bit not so much as you're risking breaking it but enough to take up any slack in the threads and keep them spinning as you tighten it.

something about how that flange is put togeher doesn't seem like it jives well with the other half of the connection.
Almost looks like your hose might be a Euro type fitting and the washer might be North American or something which is basically the same as a garden hose over here.

It'd be a shame to go through two or three hoses only to find out it's something else entirely.

Well the best part of what I had to offer was lubing so that you don't kink the washer, and giving it a jostle to make sure it's got all the play out.
But the hose you show in the picture doesn't look like the two types of fittings are the same almost like it's leaking between the gasket and the inner flange of the fitting.

A few people have suggested this and I mentioned it. This is not the answer to every problem and can apparently make some worse. The washer should make the seal. I bought a different hose and this seems to be okay.

In place of teflon tape, I have used a cake of soap.
Take a bar of soap. rub it (dry) thoroughly around the threads (after cleaning them, as suggested earlier)
Also, inspect closely for debris or misshapen plastic. Bright lights and patience can pay here.
