Great advice!!
I'm not that active on Steemit and i dont post often, i just post what makes me "me" haha and just hope people like it.
I should be a little more active, but im not really a social media kind of guy.
This is kind of my first real social media platforms.
Already been more active here then any other platform besides Playstation.
The feeling of the freedom to post what i want is enough reward for me.
It is also the reason i joined steemit in the first place.
Saw a youtube clip from i think wearechange.org
Have been hookt on steemit ever since!!
Have a nice day!!
(Edit:Sorry for the long comment got a bit excited haha)

Your comment was worth a big upvote....especially since you say that you don't post much. Well, yeah, the fact that I can say whatever the fuck I want to, or post what I want, is really freeing! I have been censored by Facebook on occasion.....it doesn't feel good!

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

I love to post things about my Cannabis hobby sometimes to, but sadly even here in the Netherlands its stil not really socially excepted, i dont know if suckbook would censor it haha, but also a lot of people who are stuck in one mind set still use Facebook even after their abomination of a TOS.
That is also something i cannot understand.
Sorry to hear you were censored by them!
But you are the one laughing now i geuss haha!!
Have a nice day!!

Love your attitude @stellabelle. Steemit is kinda like the global minnows the 99 percenters and Facebook like government. I see/predict/forecast that in time to come this power will shift, and Steemit will become the Whale of social media empowering the minnows like you and me and general society and FB much like government and other big greedy social media sites will fall away and wither into relative obscurity. Since discovering Steemit I hardly even visit FB, this will become prevalent more and more across the board and in times to come as people learn what you and I as well as all other Stemians do. 'Times are certainly a changin' and it really is all thanks to Crypto's and Steemit and naturally the wonderful people backing it all. The future certainly does look bright. Cheer$;)

I saw the post he made about you, and my word, it was breath taking.

I was speaking with a friend about Terry and he made a statement that most times his works could be liken to that of encyclopedia.
He capped up be saying, he is really surpassing google.

I could write a whole post on him and his uniqueness. I found a maze of mind who finds no joy in himself but force the joy upon others.

That is how he works, it is quite queer, yet amazing.
It is all about the heart, it doesnt matter if one is a whale or not, what matters according to him is the mentality.
Terry has risen the bar, he has touched lives. And truth is, the sky is just his starting point.

I am glad to see you are handling yourself well. Your mind is a great asset to the company, and we need it at full steem.

Keep being you @stellabelle. Steemit cares.

Thanks for that. The truth is I have been forming the contents of my next big project. It's taken me months of visualizing and planning...there's no need for pity, or poor feelings. My mind has been quite busy.....and launching a Steem School too....for me, it's time to really give back to Steem, and the whales who were so good to me.....

Oh. You are welcome maam. Good to know that it is indeed being put to great use.

The giving principle you have conceptualise, i have no doubt, would be a success. Keep steeming.

Thanks alot for the tips @stellabelle

I just might post a dance video very soon. It will be my first video post on steemit.

really, I think i would just go into posting short video of my solo drama, poetry and short stories very soon. hmmmm. Never thought of this until I read the part of your post that talked about the "crazy dance video". The idea just struck me immediately!

Now, that's how ideas are tapped. I hope to start very very soon!!! wow!!

I am really glad for this sudden inspiration.

thank you @stellabelle

ok, when you post your crazy dance video, please put a link to it in the comments....and ping me on steemit chat.

I will! Thank you @stellabelle

advance congratz for your first ever video hehe :) btw my first video will also come seems like right now to busy but when i get time will make it ! and i will also wait for your video :)

You should check out what @aineyann did with Moonbeam on her blog. Totally awesome. I wish I had the talent to do such. And her voice is so soothing and clear. I just love Ainey for that poem.

"Best just treat everyone like a golden whale"
This is exactly what I always did and will do in future, bcs it is not just about them. I am the one that misses an opportunity to find a pearl in a shell burried under the mud of spam (which is unfortunately a huge problem on steemit). The same effort I put in my posts, I put into the search for "satisfying" content, may it be educating or entertaining. And therefore the number next to a nickname is not important. Rep lvl can indicate quality, but not guarantee. And this helped me to find really nice people with the same "wavelength".

Mam, one amazing thing about you is just the call in your speech. The way you go about it to get attention still wonders me. If I have to imitate all you write, I would gladly do it. Just now I found out one thing I've missing on which have been affecting my growth coupled with my busy days. I've put them down to work on. Also @surpassinggoogle motivates me. I don't want to miss out on his either.
Maybe I don't have a whale heart but I think I have the mind. So the my mindset is always doing things to see others grow which I found as the bedrock and a path to whale city.
Thanks for always motivating me.

When @surpassinggoogle tagged your name in his reply to my post I wasn't able to catch that right away, but when i checked on you just now, read your short description and this article I understand why @surpassinggoogle created that massive post for you, because you're also a marvelous writer. 😊😊😊

Thanks for the encouraging words for us minnows..@stellabelle I really appreciate it. Followed and resteemed 😘😘😘

Curious about the bot you are creating for yourself?

Are you having someone code this for you and will it run off this account ?

Steemwhales, upvote bots etc are totally addicting lol But I fear its damaging the entire system steemit was founded on.

However my mindset now is if I don't play the game how it is today I will quickly fall behind.

I'll be working with someone here to create an upvote bot and the reason is...I can't keep up with manual voting at this stage of the game! I forget to vote for people.....that's the reason.

I can't keep up with manual voting at this stage of the game!

Thanks @stellabelle for shining a light on why an auto-vote would be purposeful. I think this helps many new Steemians understand the flood of auto voting on some posts.

Peace.

My friend created another bot, too which I will be supporting....news will be released in a bit by him....

Which friend so I can check out the update. Really look forward to this and being of any help as possible. Thanks :D

I like it :)
What a coincidence because I posted 15 Minutes ago something similar.
With your post, I feel confirmed.

Being a whale starts from the inside and it is possible to be one without a lot of steempower. At least in my opinion.

The Minnows of today are the whales of tomorrow.

Thanks for sharing this encouraging post.

I've learned the most about steemit and the community because of you @stellabelle .. Ill never forget the feeling I had pace through my chest when I saw the article you featured me in. its funny how things like that have given me more hope with my future ,passions and goals more then anything I've experienced since high school. I found a place I come where I have friends! real freakin friends!!! I'm part of something here. I love this place more then anything and I see so much opportunity and creativity... my friends in the "real world" are giving me so much shit for spending all this time here and quite frankly I could care less now.im happy here. I see what this world is coming to and I see what this world needs more of !

Don't worry, pretty soon your real friends will come to you from Steemit. I am at a point of rebuilding true friendships, and they are all coming from the crypto world. The other friendships that don't evolve with me, will fall away, or just remain in a neutral, placid state.

I agree and I already have a few friends that I know if I was in an emergency I could reach out to them for help and guidance. its truly magical.. its only been not even 2 months. I'm overwhelmed with emotion because of it. you've been nothing but supportive for me .. u give me guidance here whether its direct or through your posts. you believe in my bizarre creative tendencies.. thank you . you've been a day 1 supporter of mine and I consider you my friend. I hope u feel the same way and I'm really looking forward to the weird portion of the show. I'm always ready to collaborate with you so as soon as you say go I'm throwing my poop aside to get cray cray .. stay golden pony girl. talk soon

Yes, the show is still on. I have picked out the "crazy" episode stuff.........we will talk soon, perhaps this week.

Awesome as always @stellabelle

I already had plans to do dancing gif though...
Sometimes steemit can be too serious

Learnt my lesson with upvote bots the hard way.
Yeah they could be addictive.
There was this particular bot last week
I was consistently loosing money and yet I did use it anyway.

>Friendships based on true bonds will pay you more than any upvote bot. Every time

Right that better to really connect with the other Steemians, whether whale or minnows. All matters in this kind of platform and as you mentioned, no one will know who will going to be a whale next. Just like in real life, no one knows what a person could be or will meant to you so better to be kind to everyone as possible. Unless they gave you reasons to just ignore them and continue your path. :)

I had some time to think about @surpassinggoogle’s rise recently. He joined only a few months after I did. Even though he didn’t get noticed for many months, he was always a whale inside. He never changed. The only thing that changed was him getting noticed.

This alone is an inspiration.
'have noticed that @surpassinggoogle has been lending a ladder for new Steemians to climb and find their footing.

He naturally has a good and generous heart.
Trying his best to help people on the platform.

As always, I find the honesty, wit and directness your posts so very heartening, thank you for one more rainbow in my night.

This reminds me to treat each individual with great respect bearing in mind you Know not what they'll become. Indeed @surpassinggoogle did not change his principles yet he got noticed. He's always had the whale heart... Teaching me to keep doing good anyway. The thing about me is I view my lessons here as an application outside this platform and it has worked several times. In fact it's still working.

I hope the bot won't keep you away from here

The heart of a whale, I like that!

Great advice over there too. It took me a while myself, but I've let go of trying to use tactics to "game" system, when really, it should be all about coming from a good place:

Helping others.

Making friends on a genuine level and not just call it networking.

Be consistent.

Make them smile yo!

I've been blogging for so long and only Steemit has gotten me on the right track.

Also, this the stuff of nightmares.

yeah, welcome to my mind:

Sweet haha. I hope you're doing better of late!

This may be long, then again, maybe not.

Speaking of bots, ......nominate them in the comments.

O-kay @greenrun, gets my nomination for your bot.

For getting noticed or breaking out of your shell on steemit, I know not an easy thing to do, if it was so easy we would not be seeking ideas all over steemit, and there would not be like a gazillion post on it. I had very little On-line media exposure, I did not like facebook, nor twitter, only lasted 2 weeks max on either of them. So like all those other wanna help and be helpful steemians I have a way to help some of you out.

When I first came on steemit, I had no clue what I was doing or why I was here, or really to be honest if I even wanted to be here. I have to say that I have really been enjoying my time here. About two weeks after joining I ran across a post that just literally, blew my socks off. It was a post by @greenrun it was called Eunuch . I was so impressed with it that at every opportunity that I had I promoted @greenrun on as many post and comments as I could. This did two things for me, I felt good about promoting an absolute masterpiece of literary work, and I got to know the people that I was posting to about him on. I also got to know a little bit about @greenrun,and through him and his blogs/post meet some other nice people. By promoting him, he helped me come out of my shell a little bit.

Okay that is my advice, help someone, and you will in the end help yourself. Oh and if you haven't read about Eunuch , do it, I left the link, it will blow your mind.

yes, he's def on the list! Thanks for promoting him....i found him through you!

Hi @stellabelle, This post is good and thanks for sharing the tool. However, https://steemwhales.com/ did not show my stats correctly.

Steem On!

Outstanding. 💖

I love this man @surpassinggoogle’, such a kind soul he is. Taking about bot upvotes I personally feel it is a way for you post to get noticed.People tends to open the post only if the person is popular or the post is having high payouts. With 400000 accounts on Steemit it is really hard to get a whale upvotes.

hello just a new minnow hoping to shed into a dolphin then a whale soon. Haha but I am so happy to be here. Heard about you and @surpassinggogle from my friend and mentor @antonette. I don't write too many posts a day sometimes just 1 or every other day especially when the urge hits me. I hope to do my best and not let down @surpassinggoogle coz he has encouraged me often. I may be old but my mind is still active enough to learn. Thanks for the advice from your posts will try to follow them well.

Thank you for recognizing the minnows out here trying so hard to be recogniz ed. I would never have imagined marrying 2 celebs or anyone else together. Pretty ingenious and amusing. Most definately this is a long process, however that is part of the fun and payoff. Learning the system holds valuable skills. Thanks for your support. 🐓🐓

Yeah, I post and comment but I am "not getting socially connected" for sure. I suck at chat room banter, the frenetic pace freaks me out in there... I have been wondering all day if there is a hermit's path to success on steemit, cuz I think that is what I need... lol!

With this again, I'll say, you have a large eyes to see what someone really is.....

Just as you said.... The great whale at Mind...

That's the speak of @surpassinggoogle.... Just like I like growth.... He does too....

He's always the best Man to receive advice too.....

From him I learn you don't need to be a whale to be a whale

Then I came to a conclusion that the Determined Minnow is Much more agile than A sleeping Whale...

Don't let us look at big size anymore... Just let us look at what we contribute.....

A lot of innovative are been initiated by whales on this community...... If we look deeply into your gift tutorial, we will come to conclusion that the #untalented contest speaks him as a hump-back whale.....

Don't let us stress ourselves much....

The thing is Let be the best of what we can be, but if you can be the best you can.... Be the best you can through emulation of someone with big dreams or good deeds

@stellabelle, I have for a while noticed you share similar qualities with @surpassinggoogle. He was my backbone when I joined steemit and he still is a special friend and brother to me. I'm glad the community is beginning to recognize this rear treasure we have in him.

If most of us were like you people, then steemit will be the greatest gift given to humanity. Each day, I learn to live a better life from those who do better than myself. Though I earnestly want Steem rewards for my activities here, my focus is now more on what I need to do to affect more lives in a positive way.

Thanks for sharing this ma'am.

....and yes, you got a priceless gift from @surpassinggoogle

Making the social connections is such a key! We aren't posting in a vacuum! Engagement is mandatory to success.

Your point here is very well made. There are many minnows out here in the pond who are determined to rise above and become something larger. Many are working together, with projects like MSP, having figured out that, to quote a famous vulcan "The needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few, or the one".

Much continued success to you! Maybe there should be a US meetup in Kansas City? ;-)

I've launched STEEM SCHOOL KC, and the first class is Oct. 14 in KC...I'll do a separate post about it.

Awesome!
Terry is my lifesaver, my mentor in steemit. He helped me and motivate me everyday to bring the best out of me. Steemit is more than just a platform, it's a medium to communicate to people and to show them your aptitudes! Terry molded me to be the ME when I was aiming of becoming somebody else that I admired much. Now I owe him my progress in steemit. Thank you Terry, I hope you can read this!

that's good to hear of his effect on you! We are lucky to know him.

What a lovely connection across the world fostered by Steemit!

Not only a good moral to go by on Steemit, it's true to life too - treat others with respect as you never know how you might connect again.

Thanks for the words of encouragement, we're all trying to learn how to fly with our fins...

You and Surpassinggoogle are one of the reasons I stayed put on Steemit. I've learnt a great deal from you two. Stay blessed.

As I am reading this post of I got a realization that all my post is junk and look very common it doesn't add any value to the community. Therefore I need to do something better to grow.

Get steem or die trying <3
Simon Cowell looks great on the mashup. I could imagine him looking like that and saying to a contestant, "It's a no from me." Lol. I saw @surpassinggoogle's 8-month old post today and I found out people never really change, circumstances may change but people rarely do. I noticed the same passion, the same writing style and I noticed something most viewing today won't see, the low reward on the post. It's amazing what passion, hardwork and perseverance could do. Keep up the good work. We and every steem-loving person are grateful to you guys.

I guess I got lucky in the very beginning.......I never had to struggle really.
But I put in the hours, and just sort of dove in, without knowing what the hell I was getting into. People rarely change, it's true.....and still to this day, my most favorite thing in the world is being able to write my thoughts without filtering them....and finding true friendship....it's happening....
Yeah, and now you see how one minnow can easily surpass all the dolpins and a get a Ned SP delegation of half a million! I didn't reveal that bit in my post, but it's significant....and even more significant is that Terry does two things simulataneously: supports both economically and soulfully, tons of people.

That Ned's part is mind blowing, like I've seen you or someone say, it's easy to spot a bullshitter on a blockchain! Ned is a very smart man and recognises opportunity/ability in people when he sees one. I bet he must've seen something worth handing over such a humongous amount of SP. I'm happy that his bet paid off and I'm also happy @surpassinggoogle got a break. It's all surreal. I love to hear and read success stories. I'm a sucker for happy endings :)

Yeah madam @stellabelle I definitely agree with your thoughts about sir terry @surpassinggoogle for he is helping our community specifically philippines and nigerian people without something in return, he really have a good heart.

Congratulations @stellabelle, this post is the seventh most rewarded post (based on pending payouts) in the last 12 hours written by a Superhero or Legend account holder (accounts hold greater than 100 Mega Vests). The total number of posts by Superhero and Legend account holders during this period was 28 and the total pending payments to posts in these categories was $1376.80. If you do not wish to receive these messages in future, please reply stop to this comment.

Wow looks like you maam @stellabelle and terry has identical minds as I read the full article. And youre right maam there are minnows who are whale at heart, I just want to continue quality posts actually I work also for hours with my every post sometimes it doesnt earn much but i still continue, even though I was chatted by other steemians to just stick to drawing and not push in my other passion. I still believe that someday ill become a whale and will never forget the people who helped climb that unclimbable mountain. God bless you more @stellabelle your posts are very inspiring.

Wow First of all congradulations on all your 7020 followers omg what a victory ! a celebration time lol

For all those who seemed concerned by my recent “low point”, there’s no need to worry. I write honestly about whatever is happening, good and bad.

you would have heard this amazing quote by great person named Benjamin Franklin.

Honesty is the best policy

no matter how bad the thing is honesty will make you earn blessings everywhere !
And 100% agreed with you

If you find yourself in the dumps because you’re not getting votes, it probably means you’re not getting socially connected

the first month i joined steemit i was like how the hell people get these much upvotes and comments than slowly slowly i realized how people connect with each other and won each others heart """ IF I AM WAITING FOR SOMEONE WHY WOULDNT HE ALSO BE WAITING FOR ME """" Everyone likes upvotes ( or atleast Appreciating comment ) to keep yourself motivational or it would be like you are speaking to your hands lol ! So by seeing people like @surpassinggoogle @jlufer @juliank @rynow @ryn they all are heart warming people they can easily be your friends here they will help you in every aspect !
And if any one wanna know the things i got from steemit check out my recent post #Steemit-is-Addiction lol and thats not begging ;) you can ignore me ;)

Sorry For long Comment @stellabelle and for wasting your precious time ! :) as you have written above you were tooo much busy so you didnt post about thankyou for followers lol ! :)

lol you really ignored me :P ! :P

You and @surpassinggoogle are just two of the many I really admire on Steemit. I don't talk a lot but I am following. I joined 6 months earlier but I never posted anything until a couple of my facebook friends encouraged me to start getting active on the site. I started posting a month ago (roughly). I would like to personally thank @iwrite who never got tired of pushing me to write on here. Also @lebron2016 who posted on her FB timeline that we need to get back to blogging and @antonette who selflessly guided us through our journey as minnows. I have felt a little of discouragement a few days when I started because I wasn't getting any response from other members, I felt I was out of place. I still kept my feet moving forward. I guess I am doing a bit better now. Overall, I have to thank STEEMIT itself for getting me back on track. You guys helped me heal my anxiety and depression at some point. More power to you @stellabelle and to all!

@stellabelle. Thanks for this beautiful advice. I notice something about you and I really appreciates that . You don't care what anyone feel, says or thought about what you do and who you are. You just want to be yourself always and it shows in your write-up (post). Sincerely, I want to say I respect that.
I know I am going to be a WHALE very soon and I intend to do that by just been myself , making friends, commenting on educative and impacting post even when no one is looking.
I have some individuals on this platform who had been a source of motivation to me personally. Someone like you, @michelle.gent, @tojukaka, @surpassinggoogle, @ehiboss, @gloglo and so many others just to mentioned few.

Presently doing a SERIES ON BULLYING.. I called it ANTI-BULLYING CAMPAIGN and I believe is helping someone out there, at least from the feedback am getting and that was actually inspired by @michelle.gent from one of her post I commented on. For me that is fulfilling. You can check my blog to confirm this: @optimistdehinde.
They've inspired me a lot and the more reason why I also want to help someone to grow and treat them well because they are the future whales and dolphins just like you said. Of a truth I agree with you.

I believe what you do and I intend to always support it all the time. This is slogan about Steemit "steemit is more than just making a few cent but it involves making meaningful impact in people's lives".
Thank you for reading.

Really good advice as well as some validation.

Thanks

Those 2 face people are interesting.

Deep thinking and great views there. Brilliant

By upvote bots you mean streemian and such?, Also, I saw you saw Kevin Rose is joining steemit, you were right, it is going viral

well, i mean paid upvote bots, where you have to pay in order to receive an upvote. I can see the allure, but over the long-term, it's not the best strategy. I like bots, as long as the ones who built them have integrity. So, no, i am not talking about Streemian in this post....just the paid upvote your post bots.

I sometimes use minnowbooster and randowhale, saw a post stating it was a good way to get your post more noticed.
What are your thoughts about those 2?

Congratulations and thank you for the suggestions. You are correct...you never know when you are looking at a gem. Someone signed up in the last few days who is going to make it huge on here...we simply do not know who it is.

As for this minnow, I am still trying to work my way up the chain. I dont think I quite qualify for the whale list yet.

In the end, I hope that quality original content and interacting with others is the model to follow.

True advice!!
I'm very active on Steemit and i watch your post often, i just post what makes me happy.
The feeling of the freedom to post what i want is enough reward for me.
Have a wonderful day!!

'Upvote bots are like cocaine' ....HaHa ...brilliant. I myself have started to use steemit as my main social media platform which is strange, it is only these last 2 weeks I have been active daily. My average time is 5-9hrs a day but I am still learning how steemit works and the whole steem currency, blockchain. Regardless, I feel more connected to a wider audience and can form real connections. Its more mature than other social media platforms. I use twitter too but 140 charachters is equivalant to a smile or a frown.

create a contest where everyone wins,

That was a wonderful write-up and music to my ears (and also in harmony with what I was attempting to say here). There are several of us that are on the same wavelength as you are. Getting seen is the hard part.

Nice post @stellabelle. There are so many people joining Steemit right now. Who knows who will make it big in the coming months. I have been looking at quite a few introduction posts. There is a reasonable flow of talent coming in.

I'm also trying to build up the number of followers myself and getting to meet new people is an effective way of doing that. Their upvotes may add only cents but the exposure is worth it.

Nice one Stellabelle, yes when I first joined steemit, one of the first posts I saw was your comp for Lisbon, and so I got into action, and did something I have never done before, which was a video etc. It was the first time I had started writing and I saw so many other voices I could help get there message out.Its been a journey, but I am always impressed with your posts encouraging and inspiring others. Yes its a great little community and i am enjoying the minds of the people I meet. Thanks for you initial and ongoing encouragement. ))

Steemit is more than just a platform, it's a medium to communicate to people and to show them your aptitudes! Terry molded me to be the ME when I was aiming of becoming somebody else that I admired much.

Oh Stellabelle,
Thank you for this uplifting post.
It does me wonders of good to hear these stories.
That's what I love about Steemit.
The connections.
Like one my first day on here, that I connected with you and straightaway had a lovely convo. That's what makes my day!
Thanks for being alive lady!
🦄☄🙌🌟

Solid advice. It seems like the recipe for success is consistently posting good content and employing the idea of marginal gains!
If I've learnt anything from social media it's this - keep putting content that you're proud of out there and eventually you'll get the rewards!

Hello @stellabelle. Thank you for this insight. :) I have to chuckle at the thought of consistent upvotes on posts. It is a roller coaster at the BEST of times. BUT I do think I have clued into what works here on Steemit. I don't pretend to own this one, as many have told it to me, but it came clear through a Dos Equis beer commercial! "Find the thing that you don't do well and then don't do that thing." (See below) Well the opposite is also true. Find thing thing that you really enjoy doing on Steemit and then do it consistently.

I have been on here for 50-odd days. The first couple of weeks were a dog's breakfast as I tried to find out how this works. I found the PAL Discord (great radio interview BTW) and made many friends in there. Many told me this same thing, 'Post whatever it is that you enjoy posting about and do it consistently.'

As a musician I knew what I liked to do, making music. I also loved collaborating with people. I combined the two. Most of my posts are some sort of artistic collaboration with my new friends. My upvotes are steady-ish, but I am doing what I love and making new friends every day.

BTW If I may suggest 3 steemians for your new 'belle-bot' @carlgnash, @juliakponsford, & @vachemorte. Steemians of the finest order.

Thanks again for the insight.
Cheers,
BuckyDurddle

thanks for your comment!

"Bad times exist so that we can float up to the sky and touch the rain"- Great words as always from @stellabelle. Thanks for the tips ma.
@surpassinggoogle is just out of this world. He has always been a source of inspiration to me and obviously everyone who crosses his path on Steemit. To be candid, he's a major force that keeps me going on steemit.

Agreed Terry is very very supportive person <3 i really appreciate him on my comments and posts aswell :)

I love this post a lot. Our boy Terry does so much for the Steemit community and cares about people and it shows, he's the real deal. I was amazed that he could find the time to reply back and joke with me while he was swamped doing his "Who Am I?" contest the other week. I learned about Steemgigs through him as well, and he is always willing to lend a hand.

I'm not going to lie, I upvote myself sometimes, and I did notice that it is unhealthy to not communicate with others. I feel like a part of me is still trying to get over the fact, that I've always been regarded as the weird person out of everyone I knew. Even with the brilliant minds and vibrant hearts that fill the Steemit stratosphere, it's a hard feeling to shake.

I thought of how I could combat this and talk more often, and I wanted to share with you one of the things I'm working toward. I wrote down on the board by my desk, names of people that I really enjoy reading, and has otherwise impacted me in a positive way that I want to talk with more in the future. Part of me feels like it's dumb to have a reminder of who I want to talk to, but another part of me thinks that it's a super good idea.

reminder list.jpg

please don't laugh c:

You know you said something sometimes back about people just opening up on Steemit and again and again i find that happening to me... I dont know but this will be the second time today i will be admitting to being depressed and i know its something i just wont do on my other social media accounts... anyways yes i have been and steemit had been such a great help, i woke up this morning very clueless about my life and i am still very clueless the only difference now is i feel more at peace and all

okay i tend to just over talk sometimes but my point is i am grateful for these post, in the past few days i had been really down and i just sort of wasnt much on steemit like i used to be and to make matters not nice like my last four or five posts collectively did not make up to a dollar and i felt bad but i just made up my mind this morning to just move round, talk, explore, make friends and imagine me seeing this.... i felt so encouraged... money, honestly had not been my main motivation on steemit but of course it does have its little push buttons but right now i just feel like, money or not let me just write away....at least its better than dwelling on depression....

thank you so much as always stellabelle i always gain something from you

Hello @stellabelle

I had some time to think about @surpassinggoogle’s rise recently. He joined only a few months after I did. Even though he didn’t get noticed for many months, he was always a whale inside. He never changed. The only thing that changed was him getting noticed.

The above quoted contest is the embodiment of a true Steemian — the real spirit of never say die. I learnt it from Terry himself. This I will surely treasure until the breakthrough comes. Thanks for making this post with respect to a great Steemian @surpassinggoogle

@eurogee

Thanks for the post. Personally I have a whale heart but the problem is that my body is a jellyfish :-)

I think that's my biggest problem @stellabelle, not getting more socially engaged, but I just find it so hard to find the time between a 9-5, family, travel for work, etc. I suppose I just got to work harder. Good points thanks.

Resteem worthy!

I found you on the Terry Brock show.
Yes. Those in your follows when you start. Stay together.

Creating alliances based on integrity and real passion is one of the most under-appreciated activities on Steemit.

This is actually one of the best things about Steemit... It's a pity that somehow a lot of people under-appreciate it... T_T I won't be a hypocrite and say I don't need any upvotes... Of course, I'm also here to earn.. I need money.. haha.. xD But being in a loving community, I found my place... I love exchanging comments, giving and receiving feedbacks... I even found Steemians who I now call "brad" = "brother... and "sis"... It happened because we liked and practice similar things... especially in the field of arts, poetry, anime, science and education... I really hope that more and more people would value this gift from Steemit... The gift of community.. of friends and of family..<3 I highly appreciate this post.. Thank you @stellabelle, and thank you to sir Terry for leading me to this.. <3

Hi @stellabelle wow indeed this is good news on steemit perhaps every minnow on steemit deserve to be treated like a great whale because tomorrow he or she might end up becoming a very big whale all of a sudden, like in your story about @surpassinggoogle if i trace back according to your analysis he was already a whale in a minnow's suit and as a result i do agree with you that some minnows are born with whale's hearts here on Steemit and that means that they should be treated with care and respect because they might be chunking your next SBD upvote, lastly thank you so much @stellabelle for letting me know that i am a whale as much as i appear a minnow on Steemit but a time is coming that i will be a great whale chunking the next SBD bill on this platform, thank you for your inspiring post @stellabelle.

Hi @stellabelle, Thanks a lot for sharing a very quick response on the great post of @surpassinggoogle. No doubt Terry has made a unique recognition at steemit. And people follow him, love him because he does the same for people.
I have been following you since I joined the steemit, but I'm a silent reader of your blogs. Might be I commented 1 or 2 times on your posts. But after reading your blog on "UNTALENTED CONTEST WHO I AM" I noticed that you are a very great human as well having world class writing skills. Your response to the terry is mind blowing, it would be a beautiful gift for him from your side. No doubt this is the beauty of this platform. Your post opened several ways for everyone even who is beginner, Shy or Introvert. This is great achievement. I love your undermentioned lines, these are not only words but A Hope, Energy and power booster:
which I If you find yourself in the dumps because you’re not getting votes, it probably means you’re not getting socially connected. At this stage, it would serve you well to do the following things instead of posting every five minutes: find posts that resonate with you and post meaningful comments, find 10 people on Steemit who need cheering up, and cheer them up, join a group: Minnow Support Project or the many Steemit chat channels, create a contest where everyone wins, create a crazy dance video (I’m looking to give 100% upvotes for people who create their own crazy dance videos) or study what community builders do on Steemit……they engage others. That’s the special sauce.
Please keep sharing great Stuff. Stay Blessed!

I actually read the article of @surpassinggoogle and I found you are one of his motivators. I am sorry that I am too late to know about you. I also heard about you from @antonette and all I hear is positive things about you. I felt like I am too late to know you, as I could have been motivated more. There were times that I felt demotivated, and I am sure that visiting your posts might be a motivator, just like @surpassinggoogle.

It is getting long, but I love those mash-up of faces of those celebrities. They were so hilarious. :)

Good post and great advice, @stellabelle

I understand why you say paying for upvote bots is like cocaine in that it gives you a high but there's nothing behind that high so when it wears off you are right back where you started. But I would say paying upvote bots is more like buying self-help books. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against self-help books, but I think there is a tendency for people to think that the act of buying the book will automatically make them successful. I think that's why they often keep buying self-help book after self-help book, filling their bookshelves with them, but never have any success.

As a professional photographer, I see this all the time. Many people new to photography think that money can buy them success. They spend a fortune buying the best camera money can buy (much better than mine), the best most expensive lenses, and so on. Then they wonder why their photos are shit. Because it's not the camera, buddy. You can't buy success.

I just joined Steemit a week or so ago and am still trying to figure things out. I have been limiting myself to 2 posts a day (a photo at night and a Japanese haiku in the morning), sometimes 3 if I decide to share something else (a traditional Japanese ghost story, for example). The rest of my free time has been attempting to connect with people: commenting on their posts—long, and hopefully quality comments, following them, upvoting them. I haven't tried some of the other things you mention yet, but that's because... I didn't know about them so far. Chat I can understand, but where are the groups on Steemit?

I kind of look at that as just being a part of the community and being nice to people. But if it also helps me grow into a whale, well, all the better.

Anyway, I enjoyed reading your advice.

Brilliant advice. Just because people heard about Steemit about a year(ish) after the whales who are doing exceptionally well here, (such as yourself and a couple of others I religiously follow) doesn't mean that we should let the daunting pace of slow climbing up the ladder intimidate us.
I'm new here myself, joined less than a month ago and completely addicted to Steem. Not because I want my rep score rising others and those dolla signs with increasing zero's (although, that would feel insanely fulfilling). The idea is to get your own life organized by following your passion on this beautiful platform that's nowhere close to being fickle as other social media sites.

Everyone I've met here has their own unique voice, their own coping mechanisms and people genuinely care for each other here. It's amazing how you can find pure humanity and unity here in this small community, and I'm loving it!

I'd like to believe that I'm a whale at heart too, but I guess time will tell, yes? ;)

This post is highly motivated
Many minnows that have whale heart just need someone to hold their hands, motivate them and help them grow but many find it difficult to get such help anyway and the whale in them get scared. But you are always there to carry people along to keep the community groing.
Thanks @stellabelle for this post

@stellabelle this is awesome. Steemit 101, everything I needed to know explained in a user friendly language. Thank you

I was actually told by @buterdaniel to check out some of your posts , that you were awesome, but I really did not know what to expect until I read this post. I just did my introduction post today and have written five post already, waiting to post them all by tomorrow. And it was until I saw this post and what you said about not posting every five minutes that I have started to understand that Steemit is truly more of a social than a content platform. And I have had the pleasure of reading the amazing travel series of @vlemir and some of @surpassinggoogle's exceptional untalented contest posts . And although it will take me a while to fully find my footing here, I am hopeful and grateful that I have learnt that steemit is about creating alliances based on passion and integrity , rather than the actual pursuit of upvotes. Thank you so much @stellabelle , I look forward to reading more of your content.

Perhaps, apart from when you said that @surpassinggoogle had the heart of a whale, all he needed was to be noticed, the most striking thing about your post is this :

If you find yourself in the dumps because you’re not getting votes, it probably means you’re not getting socially connected

Being new here, I really needed these words at this moment in time. Thank you @stellabelle

Glad I came across this.....anyone can become a whale I swear just to have the right connection, friendship is built over time. I believe every minnow should focus on creating value not the sbd .for the love of sbd can lead to frustration

Thanks so much for this awesome post

what a nice article for @surpassinggoogle since the day I noticed him I am stunned about his work and what he does for the community... he will be a whale soon... for sure.

You are right about connection being the main thing. As long as one is honestly social enough and filled with goodwill, I'm sure escaping minnowdom is only a matter of time. I've wondered many times what the real motivation for people creating contests on Steemit is. This post has given me a good bit of clarity on that.

The challenge for most minnows is to have something meaningful to say at all times, whether on their posts or in the comments they post.

This paragraph in particular resonated with me:

"Creating alliances based on integrity and real passion is one of the most under-appreciated activities on Steemit. Friendships based on true bonds will pay you more than any upvote bot. Every time."

Thank you!

AWWW! @empath just sent me this blog link to check out! :) It's so awesome that you guys got to meet in real life and became friends.

Great post, as I believe there are many minnows out there just waiting to fulfill their destiny as a whale one day. Just gotta stick to the long game plan! thanks again for this awesome read and the photos gave me a good laugh.

No one is immune to receiving a life saving help from minnow or redfish. I once thought of the reason why people dont get in touch with many whales especially since this place is a community. I am happy @surpassinggoogle is among the few with enormous impact on this great community. This is one of the reason he is standing tall here. His initiatives are indepth searching. I am happy to have been on steemit, maybe i wouldn't have met him. @stellabelle much thoughtful projects, ideas and training you have given here. I have actually benefited from your insights. Nice idea about the bots. Cheers

Interest!

Great encouragement post @stellabelle. I am agree with each and every points mentioned by you. The word “every one is a golden whale specially”. Thanks follow you and reblog this post now.

Tsk! I'm a whale in minnow's body?! I might be big! But wait, looking at the mirror, I'm so tiny! Oh well, I guess, I have to look for a companion named Nemo! Maybe together we will look for a playmate -- a whale --- and time can tell who has the heart of a whale among thousands or hundreds of thousand minnows. Maybe Nemo has that heart or else I might look for another playmate.

Laughed for a ridiculous amount of time when I saw that unicorn graph on Twitter. Bit of a beavis & butthead laugh. I love that we can make these kinds of connections with people here. That buzzed me out seeing that you & Terry had been doing similar things.(Terry is one of my nicknames, my friends Dad gave it to me & Terry was a butch lesbian with a mullet & stubbies..(really short shorts) - Not sure how I got that nick name lol. I tend to hold back a lot on Steemit, so much that i didn't even mention that in my who am I post. Looking forward to these crazy dance videos though ;)

Great advice!!

Its obvious most thing you post comes from your heart good or bad. Am glad at the end of the day I can always take some lesson home. @suppassinggoogle is someone that has taken hardwork so easy it doesn't look hard anymore. Am glad to be a witness of all the good things you both are doing on this platform. Cheers!

I read through @surpassinggoogle 's post on you and it took me three hours to read through and check the other links included in the post then of course I took some notes. That was two nights ago. After reading I went back to my blog with an inspiration to write an article that was not in my head before that night and I think I did a good job.

His description of you showed me how similar your minds are and how down-to-earth you both are. Just before reading that post, I was wondering what goes on in his head and he recommended that I should read the post. I ended up having a glimpse at what goes on in both of your heads though I must confess that this has raised even more questions. For instance I wonder if your beautiful minds has something to do with why you both sleep so little.

I came here because I have nothing whatsoever to write about so I came to see what @surpassinggoogle has been up to. I found that he has not written again, instead he read, commented and resteemed posts.

I have been here for just a little over 100 Days and it has been amazing. It has been like a rebirth for myself. I have found myself becoming more open, talking about myself, extending myself, laughing at myself and being completely free. All these are very new to me and I'm loving it.

Great write up. I feel encouraged to be myself and grow steadily on this platform. Thank you

Seriously i beat my imagination seeing such softness and loving kindness @stellballe dropping word's of wisdom, to me the secret of great men are in there story's
Those word's where not just advice but secret word's of success for genuine mind. Now changing a new shoe to suite the journey ahead
Thanks i always stand with you @stallabelle

This is an awesome post. From your grammatically incorrect, yet perfectly used style, to your praise for the hardworking @surpassinggoogle. Im a big believer in getting what you give. In society today where people want the whole pie for themselves, its a great contrast to see some of the awesomeness that exists in the steemit community.

Every potential oyster can turn into a pearl right?

Thanks for the piece of advice

Oh when you joined there weren't bots😐😐

But now the bots are either more than humans or are close

Congratulations! This post was randomly selected and upvoted by @resteemr!

I found you first on Medium as I am a newbie here - just a week old and trying to figure out this crazy world. It is TOTALLU addictive. I have not done a tap of work today as I swing around this happening community. I wonder if I might be able to chat wth you outside here - I am a journalist and would like to do a how-to and a who-is piece on Steemit. Both for myself and for my traditional press. Would that be possible? cheers Jillian

Yes, let's get to know each other a little bit better before doing anything. That's how i roll! Glad you found me! You're on my "list" now.

That is cool - and glad we are connected on the 'outside' too!

funny stuff
