Let's Grow Together... My steemit review so far

in steemguide •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hi Steemians, it's been a while since I posted. I took some time to study about Steemit and how to interact with fellow Steemians here. I will forever value some quality information I got from @purepinpay, @paulag, @maverickinvictus and @jerrybanfield. These are but a few of my great guides here on Steemit. I don't know much about them personally but these guys are hardworking. If you want to know what quality content means, visit their blogs and make sure you follow them, they're worth following!

Steemit have come to be my new home and as I promised to share my experiences in different spheres of life in my introduction post. I will live to that promise. In this post, I will highlight salient points that will help newbies thrive in their Steemit journey.

Passwords
Steemit rule 1
Backup up your password

The Steem Blockchain does not have any account password recovery. This is not like centralized web services

It's totally your responsibility to secure and keep your password.

Your master key is very important so you need to keep it somewhere safe.

I recommend that you save your passwords offline like in hard drives, SD cards or even in print form.

Introduction
I strongly advise that you do an introductory post. This will be about 1 to 2 weeks after you joined Steemit. Just take some time to survey the platform and how things go before you start.

Let the post be explanatory. It also needs to contain your personal details to a reasonable extent and what value you will add to the steemit community.

To convince us that you are not a bot, take a picture of yourself with a paper that bears steemit and date like this.

Original
Here on Steemit, you need to let the world know you and what you've got to offer. Plagiarism is highly frowned upon.

You may not know but you've always got something to share!

Ranging from adventures, your past, travels, food and hobbies, you can add value from these experiences to Steemians.

Quality
I bet you got to know about steemit as platform for earning cool money. Hmm, that's true but don't let that be your reason for posting. Think of adding value.

The quality of your post crowns it all.

Always think value, value and value! Don't fill your blog with trash. It will discourage followers and you might end up not having any votes.

Create a good following
The number of followers you have can determine how far you can go on Steemit. Your posts appear on the feeds of your followers that's why you need to build a good relationship in order to gain followers.

You get followers by commenting on people's posts. Well, this is not the "nice write up" kind of comments.

Go through the post you want to comment on, see if you agree with the poster and encourage him. You can give suggestions, ask questions or answer the ones asked by the owner of the post.

Following people whose posts impact you positively is also a great way to get followers.

Don't beg for follows and upvotes
This is a sure way to piss off people. Focus on your content.

I will advise that you take your time and study the platform to see which you affects the world the most.

I will gladly upvote you if your contents are beneficial to me.
