Hunter's comment

Engineers of the University of Washington designed this smallest robotic insect and they succeeded in their project.

They directed an invisible laser beam at a photovoltaic cell which is attached above the robot and converts the laser light into electricity which serves as a power source for the robot operations.

Future RoboFlies can also look forward to more advanced brains and sensor systems that help the robots navigate and complete tasks on their own, Fuller said.

These drones are helpful on surveying crops growth on large farms. They are very small in size and are cheap to make

  • I don't support University of Washington because they have an underground laboratory with thousands of animals including monkeys and dogs. These animals will never see the light of day. A few years ago University of Washington got a slap on their wrist when three monkeys died after getting skull and vertebral implants. Most recent records show that UW has 4,000 animals and 667 primates that are currently being tested on.

@fruidaddy i didnt know about that. Yeah, its really bad hurting animals and putting their lives in danger just for experiments.
But this hunt is not from their medical department. And u should support this one, if i'm not wrong.
Thanks for checking out

Thanks for the information, I didn't know about that. Good article about it on the SeattleTimes

Awesome hunt @adnan556644😀
Robofly is amazing tiny robot that can help to prevent our large portion of time while surveying crops like they can detect the leakage of gases in the field and notify us. They have advantgaes over drone as they can even take survey in the narrow and tight spaces where drones cannot operate. But currently they are having a problem with the electronics to ooerate the wings. Happy hunting🙂

Congratulations...!

Am I the only one immediately thinking about that Black mirror episode? 😂

Big things come in small packages and for sure this is one of them. This Insect robot can survey without being seen or heard, quite a great spy gadget.

This is high tech and sophisticated innovation that will not only help farmers but the entire world. Food production has been gaining quite some attention from technological development and this is a good one for humanity.

As you said, the biggest advantage of these insects, they are cheap to make because they are so small, lol, but their size may also be disadvantage for explores, by the way I am sure Robofly will be very useful especially on farms.

Wow! Finally they manage to invent a small insect like robot to help with farming. I guess it can also be used for other purpose too, including spying on someone. They only cons they I am sure of is that it is lightweight and can be easily be blown off by a sudden strong gust of wind. Anyway, this is a really good hunt.

Impressive insect-sized flying robot, many possible applications as they can go everywhere with their independent flaps. Robofly can be valued during natural disasters to find survivors in inaccessible tight places. Thanks for sharing it @adnan556644

this is very interesting. what a development for the farming profession... this will have lasting and far reaching effects. this is the stuff that we saw previously only in movies! nice find!

It's a really cool item. I've never seen such a small robot before. I'm surprised it could have technology in such a small robot. I really like it. Thank you for sharing.

This is both awesome and scary at the same time. With this little bug the potential to cause damage could increase fast. With a little modification I could see this thing being used more as a weapon.

Most lovable RoboFly

Wow!What a amazing Hunt!It is a automatic robot fly that can convert laser beam into electricity. It also helps in surveying crops growth in farms. It is also very cheap to make.Really it is very amazing. Thanks for sharing this Hunt!

Awesome hunt! best of luck 👍👍👍

So amazing and very smart robot which is used in surveying crop . This is an innovative invention to study and have about the information of crop situation. Cool product and great hunt.

Robofly is the revolution in the robotic world because it is so smart and very useful to survey crops. It is great invention and cool product.

The technology is interesting. The small size and cheapness combined with AI-style automation could provide a cost-effective solution to surveying and monitoring all kinds of live processes.

However the reliance on direct line of sight lasers seems limiting even if this is a technological advance. Eventually it is likely to replaced by self-powered drones.

The use of mechanical insects in general also worries me. There is a potential impact on biological ecosystems if birds eat mechanical insects or spend energy chasing them. Efforts to ensure such drones are readily distinguishable from real insects should be encouraged.

Wow!! This is so cool! It's small but reliable. What if there's a strong wind though?

Great hunt @adnan556644 Now that's a small robofly. Welcome to the hightech AI world. They even can built a mini tiny robot like this! Just amazing!

This is really wonderful , cross manual survey can be really stressful and frustrating sometimes and tends to waste time but with this product , effectiveness will be brought and it will definitely be fast and smooth runned , good one hunter

Robofly is really super tiny robot. This is very useful for cropping the growth on the farms and fields.

It is an extremely cool experimental design, but hardly a market-ready commercial product...

@adnan556644 cool hunt. What a small gadget but great robot to use for these tiny insects. Great what technology can do these days. Great hunt.

oh.my god Its design so hreat and cool really awesome hunt man..thanks for sharing keep it.up

This indeed is a great Robot. It really gets difficult to survey the fields which are spread wide across i.e. 10+ hectares of land. Quite to impossible to survey the whole land. But now with this RoboFly and AI we can expect better yields and good profits from farming. Nice hunt mate.

RoboFly can be useful for pollination of crops as well. Use of insecticides lead to the absence of some friendly insects from the crops. This tiny robot would unleash new horizons for agriculture sector. Good Hunt!

Interesting product that it is produced by the robotic world, a fly which is to small and took time to produce

Waooh. Amazing application of robotics to agriculture. LArge commercial farms will definitely be the market for Robofly

I think I have already seen this post several times... if not the same product, then an evolution of it or the same in a more beta stage. Anyway, I would encourage everyone to find if the post you are about to do is unique or not. You will have better chances of being successful.

@forkyw this is still a prototype and it is designed by students of University of Washington. PRODUCTION IS STILL TO BE DONE. You might have seen similar product but not the same.

Don’t have proof... so I have to accept. Nothing against the post or you. Just trying to validate things. Cheers

A robot bee I like the idea so we can know more about these wonderful insects and their behavior as well as their medicinal use

Really cool hunt. I am curipus just when they put a camera on it and start to use it for spying😂

Well in compared to its size it does can really make a lot of difference and it would really save time and be efficient as well.

Wise Hunt.

wow that's best invention in the field of farming agriculture say no to insects with this beautiful product...
keep on hunting friend great work

it looks like an insect or housefly. People can kill it if they think like me :)

Before this kind of device can be seen only on some movies but now it is functioning and doing good task. it might be scary if the user lost this one, because of its size it is surely hard to find.

Excellent hunt

This robot is very small but very useful.

Simply super
