AMIE short for Additive Manufacturing Integrated Energy is the joint project of SOM and Oak Ridge National Laboratory it is a combination of a 3D printed polymer building with an accompanying 3D hybrid vehicle that produces, stores and transfers energy wirelessly between themselves.

The building features a photovoltaic roof and built-in natural gas generator for the micro kitchen.

Great technology, if we start using this technology in a real sense, we will be able to reach many things at a lower cost. I think 3D technology will be very useful for us.

3D printing will change the world soon. It's great seeing these printers used on a bigger scale to build things, I think we will soon see all of our contruction practices change to mimic this idea. Technology is making the future so awesome! Great hunt. :0)
