Insane fights in toon style, heaps of fun, adorable movement of UI. What's more, there's one more wonderful thing. I was awed.
An amusement from one designer. With multiplayer, AI, bunches of weapons, maps. He quit his business to make the outside of the box amusement.
The developer said VOLTED squad started with a class-first perspective. It was lead hero designer eventually proposed making “as many classes as we could come up with” and merely turning them into highly specialized heroes. More than any other hero shooter, VOLTED puts individual heroes first, not overarching classes.
VOLTED heroes are approximately grouped into four classes, but hero-specific strengths are stressed more than in, say, Team Fortress 2.
In VOLTED, you pick a hero based on who your team needs and who the situation calls for, whereas in TF2 you have more room to choose a class based solely on how you like to play, illustrating the subtle difference between team-based and class-based gameplay.
A skilled mind can fill several roles and always be useful, but you can only do so many things with Roadhog or Reinhardt, which brings us to hero switching.
There are four vehicle classes: Hover, Tank, Copter and Artillery. All 4 classes are deeply integrated into a team and squad cooperation system that is essential for gaining the victory. You can find different types of ammunition, endurance and speed abilities when exploring the battleground with each class. Besides the above listed capabilities, each class has a unique resource ability that your team requires the most to complete key objectives. In order to obtain this unique resource, you need to stay near the appropriate vehicle class.
