Yes it helped them solved 2 old cases so far. Golden State Killer cases were unsolved for 4 decades until now.

Sorry I got it mixed up with another similar but much smaller genealogical analysis site, GED Match. I thought it was very interesting how modern technology finally able to uncover decades-old murder cases and bring closure to their loved ones.
