Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) in my opinion are far superior to any microcontroller. Microcontrollers are software controlled, and need to do sequential operations, whereas FPGAs are hardware controlled and thus, don't need to sequentially do operations. (no lag)

So, using FPGAs, you can design an Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC), but unlike the ASIC, the circuit design is not set!

Alchitry devices are Alchitry Ag and Alchitry Cu, i.e Alchitry Gold and Alchitry Copper respectively.
