Hunter's comment

Chemically identical to leather but it's made of gelatin waste from the meat industry. Not vegan of course but if it means less waste I'm all for it.

"Gelatex is a non-woven textile made from gelatin derived from the low value waste of meat or leather industries. That way we give higher value to waste and enable to make up to 5 times more material from the same animal."

"Gelatex production uses only natural, non-toxic substances and makes therefore no harm to the environment, to people living in the surrounding areas, to workers producing Gelatex, nor the final consumer of the products made of Gelatex."-source

Very interesting and thank you for pointing this one out. I like my leather but yes a substitute. I wonder if it'll smell like leather does? You just can't beat that smell. Great hunt!

Hah that's a really interesting thought, it is definitely still made of gelatin, an animal product, but I have no idea what gives leather that smell, maybe we'll have to develop a synthetic plant based fragrance for the FULL EXPErIENCCEEE ;)

Hi hunter,
