OK, because of my inner Trekkie, I've got high expectations for anything that claims to be "The Next Generation", but I think this helmet is genius.

"Visibility is paramount to cyclist safety. The Lumos Helmet is integrated with super bright white LEDs in the front and solid red LEDs in the back to ensure you stand out on the road. Triangular shape of the back lights help others gauge their distance from you better."-source

The helmet receives wireless signal inputs from a small detachable signal button that mounts to your handlebars, and the helmet itself senses when you're slowing down to pop on the brake lights. The LEDs are even bright enough to be seen in broad daylight.

If I were in charge of media storytelling for these guys I'd give every bicycle delivery person in NYC a Lumos helmet, those guys take their lives in their hands every time you order GrubHub for crying out loud!
