Hunter's comment

Modcell may be one of the most underrated, or at least under-appreciated, products this decade.

The ModCell system utilises the excellent thermal insulation qualities of straw to form prefabricated panels.

That’s not all:

ModCell allows super-insulated, high-performance, low energy ‘passive’ buildings to be built using renewable, locally sourced, carbon sequestering materials that include straw and wood to create a less than zero carbon construction system.

Key terms:

  • Passive buildings
  • Renewable materials
  • Less than zero carbon

The BaleHaus at Bath University before it moved location. Yes, ModCell’s panels can be reused when building again.

How about this little hub of eco-suites in Yeotown.

4 Houses containing multiple eco-suites.

Made with straw and wood.

Reusable, carbon negative passive housing. Or schools.

This puts a modern spin on some of the eco-friendly natural building techniques that have been around for centuries. I like that the panels are reusable so you can build something new or just relocate when the time is right. Pretty cool.

Great hunt @fknmayhem! This hunt has been verified and approved by the Steemhunt Moderation Team. Great job! Happy hunting.

Damn! This has got to be the hunt of the day. FAtastic hunt you found here @fknmayhem! Such a creative and innovative way of bringing back old ideas to the modern world. Nice one!

Obviously, I’m biased but I agree.

This should be in every new construction. Yet, I did say it was an absolutely undervalued product.

This type of ecological houses are sensational because they contribute enormously to the environment offering a totally ecological alternative, the best thing is that the panels of these ecological houses can be reused many times.

In general, it seems to me that these eco houses are very beautiful and practical since their materials can be reused almost endless times.

Great hunt.

I agree, @josalarcon2.

This hunt is undervalued

Aside from the reusability of the panels, their passive housing certification is a huge thing. A Negative carbon footprint is something which should become a standard to strive for in construction. ModCell makes that possible to all, that’s quite huge a thing.

Today you present us with a great hunt. You really have a very good hunting activity, you discover great products every day. This is also cool, very friendly to the environment. A perfect entry for low-consumption activities and at the same time encourages the idea that the use of recyclable materials is an absolute and good option also for buildings.

Thanks for the kind words, @pialejoana.

I do try to always find great products. Glad to see the appreciation. :)

And you always do it. I love your hunts ..!
I only have one problem with that: they are so good that I can not stop voting and that may affect my level of hunter ...! I find it hard not to pay attention. However and despite this, I love them. They are great..!
Greetings.

This is actually my cup of tea

This type of renewable building technologies can make sure we get a "healthier" Earth in the future present moments

Wow really great hunt! best of luck

I saw this house and I figured you'd be the one posting it. Lol! Seriously, it's a great find. I'm a big believer in pre-fabricated houses, but this is a step up since it's also eco-friendly. I especially like that it's already being used in construction and that it looks flexible when it comes to design since other pre-fab houses seem to limit what you can do with their system.

...and I figured you'd be the one posting it.

Blame @edje for stealing hunting the S+tarck house.

I missed that one. I didn't know Starck did houses, too. I've always thought of him as a designer of objects. Thanks for that.

Pros:

  • Thermal insulation of straw.
  • High performance insulation.
  • Low energy consumption
  • Carbon construction less than zero.

Cons:

  • Any

Congratulations!

The ModCell panels can function both as inner and outer walls but need “cladding”.

The beauty of ModCell panels is that they can totally replace brick, but also allow other construction standards to still be applied.

If you check the link for the Yeotown eco-suites you will see that they have different models/interiors: both classic and also modern plaster style. Projects who want to achieve full eco standard (spirit) will use recycled concrete for the foundations.

And ModCell panels are PassiveHouse certified. So supreme insulation quality.
