This application is mainly for the nature enthusiasts, especially when it has to do with birds. ibird is a platform for bird identification and other ecological studies. All that is needed is an uploaded picture of the bird and the app identifies it using series of algorithms which have been developed for the sole purpose of identification.

Apart from identification, insights into other behavioural characteristics of different birds can be gotten. The app for the platform is available for Windows, android and iOS applications. A good app I will recommend to the bird lovers.

The illustrations with field marks and photos help a lot with identifications. The bird sounds are also very helpful. My sons have enjoyed using it for several years, especially last spring when a Cooper's Hawk built a nest and raised a family in our neighbor's tree.

Interestingly, I'm just coming across the app for the first time.

I'm very glad to see this after someone Hunted virtual girlfriends today. Ibird has a great use for anybody who is not a walking encyclopedia about birds. Students, Travlers, curious kids and even professionals would have a great time with Ibird.

It's avaliable on many platforms and includes additional educational information to expand our knowledge. These are the hunts @steemhunt deserve. Keep it up☺

I love birds. App seems very interesting with some cool features. Bird is a cute creature on earth. I am now looking for getting information of birds as a knowledge. Nice application for nature lovers. 👍

This app is exclusively for the birds in the American Birding Association area, i.e. North America north of Mexico. I believe the Sibley Guide to the Birds Second Edition is a superior app for this purpose, and I posted a hunt on that app on Dec 10th. https://steemhunt.com/@birdbanter/sibley-guide-to-the-birds-app-the-second-edition-of-the-sibley-guide-to-the-birds Still iBird is a good app, and the Pro version is useful in the field. Good birding.

I am very satisfied, however I have not used many other apps to compare. Features that I love:

  1. Having the songs
  2. The photos are great for cross referencing with illustrations
  3. The “Behavior” tab contains lots of useful information, especially more detail on similar birds

I'm an avid birder and have used iBird for years. For quite a few years it was the only good U.S. and Canada bird ID app with usability on smart phones. Now some other apps have seemed to me to be superior, especially the Sibley birds app. Still the iBird Pro app has a better selection of bird songs the Sibley so I use both. Good hunt.

CONGRATULATIONS...!
