"About
An active lifestyle is healthy and enjoyable for our seniors. As we encourage them to get out to the community, we are also obliged to be there for them should the seniors need our help in unexpected situations. It is a huge responsibility for those who take up this caregiving role, especially when we are busy at work or have our own children to take care of.

Existing alarm products in the market are mostly home-based system that only works within the senior’s home environment. Whereas typical GPS tracking device only provides location data in an outdoor environment, which ironically seniors spend most of the time in indoor settings such as a shopping mall, community center, or restaurant.

This is what AROCO Locator AL312 is all about. AL312 is a simple wearable smart mobile device designed for seniors, it goes beyond GPS location data and leverage WiFi network to notify us as the senior enters or leaves any specified locations (marked zones) through the caregiver’s smartphone app. The device is also capable of sensing sudden falls and alerts the caregiver for potential accidents of the wearer. The AL312 does all these by communicating directly with your smartphone via messages in our app.

The Product

The AROCO Locator AL312 consists of a wearable mobile device (device) for seniors and a smartphone app (app) for the caregiver to monitor the senior. The wearable device is a specialized Android mobile device custom-built to quietly collect location data and update the caregiver’s app 24 hours a day. The mobile app comes with iOS or Android version, which functions to retrieve location data and alert messages from the mobile device. The caregiver can also use the app to make a phone call to the mobile device to talk to the senior, or to remotely control the mobile device to take snapshots of the wearer’s surroundings.

The device comes with a charging cradle for senior-friendly power charging operation. An optional portable WiFi beacon device is also available for the frequently visited locations which do not have WiFi access.

An Integrated Mobile Solution

The AROCO Locator AL312 is an integrated solution between the wearable device and the caregiver app. The device communicates with the caregiver app through mobile data network. It senses GPS & WiFi signals to determine the device's geographical location. Location data and other alert messages are then synced to the caregiver app.

With AL312 caregiver app, the caregiver can just sit back and be informed the whereabouts of the senior through the app’s messaging system.

Key Features
In addition to GPS signal, our unique WiFi Zoning technology listens to the entry and exit of pre-registered WiFi SSID zone. (SSID is the identification or the name of the WiFi network) When the device wearer enters or exits a WiFi Zone, the device will notify the caregiver by sending a message to the app. For example, if the senior goes home and the device senses the SSID at home, the device will send a message to the app informing the caregiver the senior has arrived home safely.

Working with the wearable is our highly sophisticated caregiver app. It's packed with advanced functionalities for the caregiver:

• monitor the whereabout of the seniors via interactive map

• monitor the senior’s arriving or leaving of specific locations (defined by the WiFi Zone-Of-Interest feature)

• maintain a timetable of check in and out of specific locations so we know if the senior is arriving the locations on time or late.

• be alert if the senior suddenly falls via the fall alert message

• remote trigger the wearable to take picture to see the surrounding of the senior

• direct call the senior via the wearable built-in phone function

As a result, the caregiver can monitor the seniors at ease simply by reading the messages through the caregiver app. In normal situation, the caregiver does not have to do anything but just to read messages from the caregiver app.

If you have seen a senior using a smartphone, then you will know that the typical smartphone all purpose user interface is way too complicated for them. Therefore the AROCO Locator AL312 is specially designed with buttons for single dedicated task. As they age, our senior’s fingers will be much less sensitive for touch screen operation. That’s why AL312 employs physical buttons to provide tactical feedback to the senior."
