Hunter's comment

Windows users certainly often hear the term like restore point, for Linux users, there are also tools that can be used for restore points, namely Timeshift.

Timeshift allows users to protect their systems by taking incremental snapshots that resemble the time machine function on Mac OS and System restore on Windows.

If you are a Linux user, Timeshift is very suitable to use as your system restore OS.

Although Linux systems are much more stable and often don't crash, still there could be situations where one might require to roll back to a previous time to get the configurations that worked for their applications.
Nice hunt.

Good to know! Fortunately, I have not needed this the way I did when I relied on Windows, which was a huge mess but I have had occasional crashes on Linux Mint, worried that file system may have been damaged. Turns out it was my HD burning out but I like knowing that this is available.

Timeshift is a useful tool for Linux users if their computer is not working. It can help them to roll back to a previous configuration that works for the computer. This is always a good tool much like the windows versions.

I admit that I have not yet used Timeshift, which has appeared on Mint since the last version. But the tool seems really well designed. Especially the backups, which are incremental, that's really a good point.
