Today I bring you clothing in a can!

Fabrican was developed by a team out of London, at the Bioscience Innovative Centre and they have created liquefied fibers that can be sprayed out of a can. Once the spray attaches to the desired object, the solvent spay evaporates and a strong bond is created.

This is super cool and super futuristic. There are more applications than just clothing as well. Fabrican has use cases in the medical field, such as using the spray as a bandage or sterilizing an open wound

With the rise of 3D printing this new fabric in a can could be a great competitor in the market and help lower the costs of clothing. Would you wear clothing out of a can?

Originally patented in 2010, the company ran into some issues with health agencies not declaring it safe for usage because of the aerosol nature. It wasn't until recently that the company was able to put it on the market for both industrial use and individual consumer use.

I like the alternative options that are being created but I'm not sure how comfortable I would be wearing something like this. I guess time will tell if market sentiments turn this into a hot product or just something that collects dust on retailer shelves.
