Hunter's comment

Cholera, dysentery and diarrhoea are diseases caused as a result of poor hygiene and lack of access to safe drinking water. Addition of chlorine to drinking water can remove pathogenic microorganisms, but the chlorine supply hardly reaches rural communities. What it they could produce it locally themselves?

WATA technology allows the local production of sodium hypochlorite for water treatment and disinfection purposes. It targets communities that lack access to a chlorine supply chain or to a drinkable water supply.

With salt, water and a source of electricity, sufficient quantity of chlorine can be derived from the process of electrolysis.

They have a range of devices depending on the quantity of chlorine required.

Cholera, dysentery and diarrhoea are big danger because of disinfection in some countries. I am sure, Wata would be a perfect solution. Awesome hunt.

Very useful product specifically for the rural area! nice hunt.
Pros:-

  • This gadget works on a simple process of electrolysis of water+salt,so you need just the water (which has to be clean),
    Salt and electrical supply.
  • The electrolysis converts the sodium chloride into active chlorine which can destroy the microorganisms present in the water.
    Cons:-
  • in most of the rural areas there's lack of electric supply.

It could be powered with energy from solar source or a 12volt DC battery.

Congratulations!
