Traditional Gayo Horse Race

Gayo Traditional Race is held twice a year in Central Aceh Regency, which is February to commemorate the anniversary of Takengon City and in September commemorates the Republic of Indonesia's Anniversary. In recent years in the Province of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam there has been a division of the district, namely the Regency Government. Bener Meriah and Gayo Lues District Government, they also held the Gayo Traditional Horse Race competition once a year and the horses from these 3 (three) districts always participated in this event. Horse racing in Takengon has been held since the Dutch colonial era, but after harvesting agricultural products according to history and oddly enough, jockeys called little jockeys generally sit in junior high school and while riding the horse without a saddle and horses are the result of crossing Australian horses and horses the small gayo, namely the help of the local government, now the gayo horses have started high. Takengon is famous for its agricultural products, namely Gayo coffee which is exported abroad through the battlefield of Medan and the city of Takengon surrounded by hills with a cool atmosphere that is even more beautiful with the lake view, Lake Laut Tawar.
