I might have known JP Morgan would set up their own stable coin. The big question is, do people trust them enough to buy and hold this coin, or do they prefer traditional cryptocurrencies.

It depends on which people you mean. JPMorgan’s coin does not target cyberpunks; but is aimed at the mass consumer market. The man in the street would trust a JPMorgan product.
