SOSmart is a very useful application. The mechanism behind the crash algorithm is superB and is well tested.
SOSmart can detect automatically if the user has been involved in a car accident just by reading your smartphone's regular sensor and sending your location to an emergency contact that greatly reduces rescue time.
Smart algorithms have been developed using real car accident data from NHTSA. So why is this application so important? Because time is very important in accidents and seconds can make a difference. According to the European Commission Ecall can reduce rescue time by up to 60%.

This is great in theory, but how does an app tell the difference between your phone being in a car involved in an accident, against your phone being dropped on the floor?
It's probably very accurate in high-speed accidents, or if the car hits a stationary object like a tree, or wall at speed. But what about if you're going relatively slow and break suddenly - causing your phone to slide off the chair and on to the floor? You've avoided the accident, and are safe, but your phones motion sensors probably tell a different story.
The problem is that even a few occasions of false reporting by the app would see it trusted less and possibly ignored by those supposed to respond - not to mention the worry of those on your contact list if there was no accident.

@oomcie85, is this app only support for car accident?, maybe they need to make improvement to support with all accidents (ex : bike, motorcycle, or even support to guard our elderly).

For times according to what I can understand, it can only be used for cars, maybe someday it will not be possible to be developed for lovers of two-wheeled vehicles, very good advice.

This is quite an innovative and very useful application that could save lives. I really do hope there won't be issues of false alarms in unique cases of deliberate or accidental phone smash or fall. It could be very effective in areas with efficient emergency services.
