What is it?
Less than half the weight of a normal medium format camera, the Hasselblad X1d brings the medium into compact form. The X1D-50c is a remarkable camera leaving shockwaves in the photography world. It takes 50 megapixel images at medium format sensor size.
What is medium format?
"Medium format” is generally used to refer to film frames or sensor sizes that are larger than 35mm full frame (24x36mm) but smaller than large format (4x5in). So, the 43.8×32.9mm sensor in Fuji's 50S is medium format, but so is the larger 53.7×40.4mm sensor found in Phase One's 100MP XF camera."

Hasselblad X1d Images
In good fashion, I took it upon myself to check it out at the camera store here in LA. Funny enough, it was tiny compared to my own camera (Nikon D7100). Probably the most expensive selfie I've ever taken. The color depth and the light it is able to bring in is just phenomenal. I'm standing in front of an open window with reflected light off of city buildings, but still the light is just amazing in such a non-amazing-for-light place.
Controls
The X1d features touch control screen on it's back. It's simple to use and makes access to features more intuitive and speedy. The camera also has a digital viewfinder with bright and crisp viewing even in dark conditions.
High Speed Flash and Leaf Shutter
A leaf shutter is a shutter on a lens that can function at super high speed flash sync.
Lens Line
Currently there are only a select amount of lenses available for the camera. But they are really all you need for normal type of photography situations.

@gohenry, actually low light performance is much higher due to the lenses and the sensor. It's higher than any full frame or other camera. But thanks for the review and otherwise it's all there! :)

It a very nice and beautiful hunt you shared here.

It is cool camera :) But this price is too high. I am sure if sony make something this( soon it makes it :)) ) ... it make camera what price is 5000 $ what 51 MP .

The thing is, price is definitely very low for what it is. It's not the every mans camera though. It's not a point and shoot or a regular dslr. It takes photos that you can print on posters or walls of buildings. I agree though, I'm not buying one just yet! haha @foxkoit

I was personally think that the point is not how you use it, but simply too high a price to get it :)
And If you're creative, you can use it everywhere, but if you think it is for just some for certain things to make photography then it is problem that you think wrong... you just put yourself down borders if you think so. I think I fill be happy use it on the street and play. :)) But just I not agree what this price . Sometimes using a brand name to make a product higher price making it all unpleasant and no longer enjoyable.
And it is just what I think... I hope it is ok :) And sorry... I am from Estonia and my English week.
