- The new robot developed by the RIKEN-SRK Collaboration Center for Human-Interactive Robot Research in Nagoya announced in 2009. The new ROBEAR robot is lighter than its predecessors Of only 140 kilograms, and incorporates a series of functions that allow you to exert a force in a delicate way.
- The robot also improves its predecessors by having a small base, which makes the system lighter. It prevents it from falling through the use of legs that can be extended when needed to lift a patient, but is withdrawn to allow the robot to maneuver through small spaces, such as doors.

I cannot wait to have my first fully functioning robot. They are making wonderful progress. This one looks a lot more flexible and friendly than many in the past. They are no longer sci fi looking.
In a few years we might see them be common in industry and then head into the homes after that.
