SteemHunt | My Thoughts On It

Recently, I have been engaging with quite a lot of communities built on top of Steem. It's really fascinating how people around each community is so passionate or enthusiastic about their community. The community that touched me most was SteemHunt. In this post, I will be sharing my thoughts like what I like about SteemHunt and what I don't. If you don't know what SteemHunt is then here's a introduction that will help you to move on with the post.

Introduction To SteemHunt (If you don't know...)

SteemHunt is a product hunting website, very similar to ProductHunt or BetaList. In this website, we have to find new products - mostly but not limited to tech products. The main idea of the SteemHunt is to build a hunt economy that have never done before. ProductHunt is a very well-known website but it doesn't pays their hunters who are doing most of the work but this is not the case in SteemHunt. On SteemHunt, the hunters are rewarded in form on Steem and SBD (Steem Backed Dollars). They have massive delegation due to their efforts. They are using this delegation wisely to upvote the quality hunts. They are also constantly improving their system to fight the abusers.

Things I Like About SteemHunt

Here's a list of things that I like about Steemhunt and these also the things that makes it better than other websites of same kind like ProductHunt or BetaList.

Transparent

Most of the time, we don't have a clue how much money is rolling behind the covers of ProductHunt or BetaList. We also don't know how much they are earning through the hunts that we make on their website. Those websites gets a huge amount of traffic and that's the reason huge companies are ready to pay big bucks to promote or kickstart their product there. On SteemHunt, we have complete transparency how much each hunt made and who created the hunt.

Community Driven (More Decentralized)

SteemHunt is more community driven than ProductHunt. I am saying this because ProductHunt controls what should be shown more. Premium hunts are shown more to people, resulting in more votes and then at the end of the day they are the products that come at top of leaderboard. This is not the case with SteemHunt. Every hunt is treated equally and more cooler products are the one that come at the top of the leaderboard thanks to influencers.

Transparent Team

Another factor that makes it better than ProductHunt is that its team consists of existing members of the Steem community that are well-trusted and well-known by the community. Every moderator and influencer chosen to given the role is a person that already exists in the community and is already working greatly. We don't know any background about the team members of the other websites. Cool thing is that anyone can apply to join the team as moderator and influencer.

Cool User Interface

The interface of SteemHunt is very colorful and catchy/appealing to users. It is definitely one of the best UIs I have seen in a very long time. The colors really suit well and the overall design is very good and more interactive than the other websites. This will make users want to visit this website again.

Continuous Development

SteemHunt is constantly improving day by day and I like that. The devs/team of SteemHunt are working hard to improve this website greatly and to completely remove the abusers on this website, for this they are working really hard. If you go through their steemit profile (@steemhunt) then you'll see how constantly they are improving. Recently they announced ABV 2.0 which is a great step to make this platform better.

Open To Community

SteemHunt is - without a doubt - very open to the community. You can literally have a conversation with every member of the SteemHunt team in the discord channel but just don't annoy anyone or else you will be banned. You can always have a private business related chat though.

Thing I Don't Like About SteemHunt

Less Motivating For Newcomers

After ABV 2.0, even if the hunt was at first place on the leaderboard the person will get no upvote if he is level 0. I know this system is necessary to prevent the abuse but this system also has some disadvantages. Hunters can lose their motivation if they work every day and still don't get upvoted by SteemHunt. This is the only thing that I think could be improved.

Overall Thoughts

I think this is a great website and team behind it is awesome. I really want to see Hunt Tokens on the market and being it the next website people go to find new products.
