Promoting Steemhunt | SteemHunt Mentor Progress Report #3

Summer is just around the corner.

A lot of things have happened recently and I want to quickly give an update to everyone regarding the Steemhunt Mentoring Program.

So far, we have run 2 Contests to find the best candidates for Steemhunt Mentors. Contest #3 is still ongoing. As we run these contests and evaluate the participants' involvement, we will be able to recruit the best Steemhunt mentors for the Steemhunt community.

1. Contest #2 Has Ended & Rewards Distributed

I want to take this opportunity to thank our 24 Steemhunters for participating Steem Mentor Contest #2. We didn't expect such great enthusiasm in the participation. It took us a few days to read all the 24 entries.

On June 17th, @Steemhunt has distributed the rewards to all 24 Steemhunters. Congratulations!

Together with @project7, we came to the conclusion in picking the 1st winner: @Monajam on My Entry to the Contest "How to Become a Talented SteemHunter"

@Monajam has given great tips on how to post your product links & comments. Please take note of the following 2 great points for Steemhunters:

Product Link

• The product link you are using should be leading to the product directly. Don't use the main website as a product link.
• Only use the official product links from the manufacturer, developer. Don't use e-commerce links, such as Amazon, unless the product is manufactured by Amazon.
• Other types of links you can use are: AppStore, PlayStore, Github, Bitbucket, Kickstarter, Indiegogo
• In case you are using a link from a crowdfunding site, make sure that the funding is active status or successfully completed. Projects with unsuccessful funding or those that are canceled by the project owner are not accepted.
• Don't use your referral links as product URL.
• After you publish your hunt, check that the link is working; sometimes the link doesn't work after SteemHunt ref. is added to it. In such cases, use a URL shortener to convert your link.

Hunter's comments
Write the hunter's comment in a way that captures the attention of the reader. The hunter's comment should be to-the-point, describing the product briefly, in own words. If you copy some content from the product's webpage, you must not only use the quotation marks to quote but also properly source the content

Many other tips are given in the 24 entries! Please take time to read them so that you can learn where to hunt for great products and what skills are needed to be a top Steemhunter.

The purpose of this contest is to find Steemhunters who are skilled and talented in their hunts. A Steemhunter mentor needs to have these skills. These entries do give us a good indication of candidates who are suitable to become Steemhunters mentors.

2. Contest #3 - Onboarding New Users

Last month we started a 3rd contest for Steemhunters to get new users to sign up for Steemhunt.

Another quality that is needed for a Steemhunt mentor is to be able to reach out to people outside of Steemit. We are opening this contest to all Steemhunters.

Test your skill to see how many people you can get to sign up to SteemHunt. This will be another indication to help us recruit the best Steemhunt mentors for the Steemhunt community.

3. Tips To Help You Succeed in the Contest:

Many people are usually at a loss as to how to begin. So I highlight the following tips again so that you can easily onboard new users onto Steemhunt.

a. Invite People to Sign In To Steemhunt - It's FREE!

• Start inviting your family members
• Get your friends to join with your enthusiasm
• Talk about SteemHunt with your colleagues
• Show your product page to your followers in Facebook, Instagram, Google hangouts, etc.
• Reach out to your followers via email, etc.

b. Show them How To Sign Up - It's FREE!

Go to: https://steemhunt.com/sign-up

• show them how to create an account
• Explain to them that 15 SP Delegation is generated by Steemhunt for all new accounts
• 15 SP Delegation is 1 month only

c. Get your new users to write an Introductory Post on Steemit

Introductory post must include the following:

• your username (the one who invited them)
• why they join Steemhunt
• why they join Steem

In this way, the Steemhunt community, as well as other communities on Steem, can also welcome them.

d. New Deadline: July 10, 2019 23:59 UTC

The new deadline is pushed to July 10th so that all Steemhunters have enough time to do a good job in this contest. We know that recently there has been a lot of contests going on, therefore people have been tight on time. We are responding to these requests so that you can all have fun onboarding new people.

As many of you know, Steemonboarding just finished the Steemonboarding Operation Mass Adoption which ended this week.

For Steemhunters who participated in the Operation Mass Adoption contest, please remember to mention Steemhunt community so that you can all win an extra prize for onboarding new people as a Steemhunt community.
