Mixed-reality applications and experiences have the potential to really change the way we see entertainment and to experience new things.

Visual artists and performers (like dancers or music bands) will be able to put on ever-most visually challenging and stimulating shows. Imagine too how theatre productions could encorporate this tech. The mind boggles.

However, I think at the moment, the tech is out-pacing the content creators. There are just so many possibilities opening up that we can't produce ideas fast enough. And as these are new visual experiences, which we don't necessarily know how to process (as humans), predicting the emotions are can trigger is not yet understood.

For example; what the eye sees is very powerful, and the brain will trigger emotions and physical responses to what it "sees". But, a little like with VR, these are new experiences, which our brains don't quite know how to process. So, it makes us feel uncomfortable.

Once our understanding in this area improves - probably through a lot of trial and error, we can really invent [literally] new experiences, and potentially, new forms of entertainment.
